warwelf You're fighting a warwelf

You are attacked by a Warwelf. A Werwulf. A Worwilf.

You can't pronounce it, but you can certainly lay the smack down upon it.

Proper.

Hit Message(s):

He lycanthropes you square in the <solar plexus>. Oof!

Oh no, Paul! He is the clawing you in the <ear>! Ooh! Ow!

He gnaws on you with his sharp teeth. My, warwelf, what big teeth you is having. Ugh! Ow! Oof!

Critical Hit Message:

He throws back his head, howls at the moons, and leaps on top of you! Before you can get away, he's chewed the dickens out of you. Which is a shame -- you're going to miss that dickens. Eek!

Miss Message(s):

He tries to lycanthrope you in the <giblets> and the <skull> at the same time, but ends up hitting neither.

He runs at you but runs into a flagstaff. Welcome to flagstaff, warwilf.

He tries to gnaw you with his sharp teeth, but can't seem to be is biting you.

Fumble Message:

He rushes at you, howling, but whatever moon his lycanthropeness is tied to ceases to be full, and he turns into an embarrassed, naked man. He covers his privates and walks off sideways. (FUMBLE!)

After Combat

Meat.gifYou gain 10-14 Meat
You gain 1 <substat>.

Occurs at The Spooky Forest.

Notes

  • A successful attack from this monster has a chance of causing an effect:
Moon2.gifYou acquire an effect: Mild Lycanthropy
(duration: 10 Adventures)
  • For a brief period, this monster gave the Cunctatitis effect, due to a bug.

References

  • This adventure is a reference to the 1996 film Werewolf (as seen on Mystery Science Theater 3000), where all the main characters seem to have incomprehensible accents, with the result that none of them are able to pronounce "werewolf" the same way. The attack text also includes plays on the lines "Oh no, Paul! You is a werewolf!" and "Welcome to Flagstaff, werewolf."
  • The fumble text may be a reference to the video game Rampage, in which one of the characters was a giant wolfman, and exposing him to too much damage caused him to turn into an embarrassed, naked man, who would behave as described in the text.
