Initiative Testing

The problem with testing initiative by finding the number of times you get the jump on monsters is that the odds of getting the jump are dependent on your buffed mainstat and you can only get one sample per adventure. A better method is to test whether you can run away or not with a given amount of initiative modifiers. See Spading#Combat_Initiative for a discussion on this method. This enables you to get up to 30 samples per adventure, and more accurately tests for the presence of initiative modifiers.-QuantumNightmare 14:56, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
