Turtles All The Way Around

|
You follow your nose, and your ears, until you find that quintessential hippy pastime, the drum circle. A dozen sweaty hippies sit around a bonfire, banging on their bongos like a chimpanzee, each a little behind or ahead of the beat. The sound is overwhelming, and the smell is worse -- the bonfire burns almost green through the funk.
You see one of the drums stand up on four wobbly legs and start slowly walking away. You follow it, not sure if it's real or if you've just spent too much time around the hippies' sweet-smelling smoke. Once you catch up to it, though, you see it's not a drum, it's a turtle. It looks up at you, bobbing its head and swaying back and forth, still dazed.
Tame the wild spirit |
You tap "Shave and a haircut" on its shell. It taps "two bits" with its foot, and looks up at you expectantly, still swaying with the beat that still echoes in its shell.
You acquire an item: syncopated turtle |
You tap "Shave and a haircut" on its shell. It taps "two bits" with its foot, but before you can grab it it seems to get really hungry all of a sudden, and it darts into a tent looking for potato chips.
Occurs at The Hippy Camp as a Turtle Tamer.
Notes
- Does not cost an adventure.
- You can only tame up to three syncopated turtles per ascension.
History
- Prior to the Turtle Taming revamp on July 15, 2014, Eau de Tortue needed to be active in order to receive this adventure, and a turtling rod was needed for the taming to be successful.
- Trying to tame the turtle without a turtling rod read:
- You pat its shell reassuringly, but it doesn't seem to notice. It bobs away toward a quieter, better-smelling future.
