Talk:The Obligatory Pirate's Cove
"Avast" means stop or halt, so the message encountered when your stats are too low doesn't really fit.
On the contrary, the message makes perfect sense. Your stats are too low for you to adventure in the cove, so the pirate says "avast." You "you avast with a quickness" - in other words, you stop. --Quix0te 16 May 2006 21:40
- I went to the Cove before going to the Orcish Frat House, and did indeed get the Remembarrr the Main adventure. I got it right after rollover, so it might have been changed. I'll wait until there's more confirmation to update the page. --Shima 11:39, 7 June 2006 (CDT)
- The "Remembarrr the Main" adventure can come up even if you have the Swashbuckling Getup on.--Mustard 13:23, 7 June 2006 (CDT)
- I have aso received the "Remembarrr the Main" adventure without visiting the Frat house.--johnmc 21:51 PDT, 17 June 2006
- The new item 'flaregun' has started dropping today. I have received it from both the Shifty and Smarmy Pirates. I'll try and keep track of the numbers of drops against encounters and update accordingly. I will also note if I receive it from any other encounters.--Nopsine 06:58, 2 August 2006 (CDT)
I just had an adventure in the obligatory pirate cove *in diguise* which was combat with a monster called "tofurkey", which isn't on the list of adventures for the area. I received two items "leg of tofurkey" and "torfurkey gravy", I haven't used them yet. I also want to note that the "three arrs" adventure isn't listed --Wimp Lo 00:55, 23 June 2006 (CDT)
This page says that you can get Remembarrr the Main before visting the frat house. The Remembarrr the Main page says you can't. My (albeit anecdotal) evidence says that this page is wrong. Can someone confirm? --MC Scared of Bees 23:22, 24 September 2006 (CDT)
Change to adventuring in disguise?
I just spent some time mining the swashbuckling gear, then after I got the outfit I donned it and spent a turn adventuring in disguise. Then I try to adventure again, and get the message "Adventuring here before level 9 is a really bad idea." Did I catch a minor change to the cove right as it happened? I successfully spent one adventure in disguise, so it's strange that I didn't get kicked out for being level 8 until the second time. --Missingno 17:10, 13 March 2007 (CDT)
New adventure in disguise at the cove, you acquire a bottle of pirate juice, which shows up in mostly potions in your inventory. --Snooty 16:37, 25 June 2007 (CDT)
I recieved the same adventure undisguised at the cove. --Fbt 16:52, 26 June 2007 (AEST)
BHH Item Drops
Vial of Pirate Sweat drop as part of the bounty hunter quest from smarmy pirates. Shouldn t this be listed as an item drop with a note about it only occuring with the BHH quest? --Zxa 10:32, 24 July 2007 (CDT)
Expanded Pirate Cove
Does anyone have the skinny about the new "recruits" the pirates are looking for? There's now a shop (with two items) and a bar (with at least three pirates, tipsy, toothy, and tetchy) still checking item drops from the fights. TheRealVentrue 22:22, 3 December 2007 (CST)
Pirate brouchure grants 10 turns of Muscularrr TheRealVentrue 22:25, 3 December 2007 (CST)
I'm a Moxie class, and it gave me 10 turns of Charrrming. Bet it gives something else for Mysticality classes... Guchuko 23:06, 3 December 2007 (CST)
I got Charrrming as an AT. --Ketaped 23:15, 3 December 2007 (CST)
- It gave Muscularrr to this Sauceror TheRealVentrue 23:11, 3 December 2007 (CST)
I received Charrrming as a Pastamancer, so I'm assuming it's a RNG thing. --Tylersalt 08:54, 4 December 2007 (CST)
The old content exits if you adventure in the cove w/o the Swashbuckling getup equipped. --Tylersalt 08:54, 4 December 2007 (CST)
New Noncombat Adventure (Barrrney's, possibly triggered by being muscularrr): You and the Cap'm Make it Hap'm Result: You acquire an item: Cap'm Caronch's Map
Map triggers (at least it did for me) a combat: booty crab - guessing about 100 hp (mind control device set to 11) Received: Cap'm Caronch's Nasty Booty Triggers new noncombat:
This Adventure Bites Received: Orcish Frat House Blue Prints Using the Prints grants new Noncom: The Infiltrationist
Options: Attempt a frontal assault - Lose X HP (Main Stat?) Go In through the side door - Lose X HP (Main Stat?) Catburgle - Lose X HP (Main Stat?)
Apparently, I need something I haven't got. Frat gear, I imagine. TheRealVentrue 22:48, 3 December 2007 (CST)
- Frat boy outfit plus frilly skirt (or just frilly skirt) works.--Memnarch 23:07, 3 December 2007 (CST)
didn't pay close attention but i think the frat wings are needed too.--Memnarch 23:13, 3 December 2007 (CST)
You can catburgle with the frilly skirt and hot wings. You get dentures which is a quest item leading to a beer pong adventure where you need to play beer pong with the pirates. It seems there are several items that will advance this adventure. --Ketaped 23:14, 3 December 2007 (CST)
You can go through the side entrance if you're wearing a mullet wig and you have a briefcase. If you just have the wig, you will be turned away, but won't take any damage. If you don't have the wig, you take a great deal of damage. --Nayker 01:15, 4 December 2007 (CST)
Front door -- Frat Boy Ensemble
Side door -- Mullet wig and briefcase
Backdoor -- frilly skirt and hot wings
Seem right? --Tylersalt 08:54, 4 December 2007 (CST)
There's a new Noncombat adventure with a dart game and an eyeball in the center of the board. Of course I forgot to cut and paste the options. I chose the middle option -- effectively cheat. I got 300 to my two secondary stats and 400 to my primary (Moxie) and 3 drunkeness. I'm level 17, so this stat gain may be based off unbuffed stats and multiplied with a maximum that I hit. --Ketaped 23:02, 3 December 2007 (CST)
Last choice gave me 3 drunkenness and the stat points.--esko 23:27, 3 December 2007 (CST)
End of quest
A Fledgling Pirate Is You!
You report back to the Cap'm, a little grimy from doing all the chores he requested. Since you're standing next to a grimy pirate, though, you look positively clean by comparison.
The Cap'm inspects the rigging, cannonballs, and mizzenmasts, then turns and slaps you on the back. "This be the cleanest rigging, the most well-swabbed mizzenmast, and the shiniest balls I've ever seen!" he says. After you all stop giggling, he continues: "You deserve a share of me booty for doing the work so well. Well, maybe I should just give ye some meat instead. Anyway, ye truly be worthy to be a full-fledged member of me crew. Here are your decorative fledges -- wear them with pride! You now have access to the entire ship. Except for my private quarters, of course, unless you buy me a few drinks first." You gain 3,000 Meat. You acquire an item: pirate fledges
I'll post a walkthrough in a bit if no one else gets around to it. Gront 23:10, 3 December 2007 (CST)
- quick spoilery walkthough for those who wish to be spoiled:
- Purchase the insult manual from the pirate store and use it in each combat to learn new insults. Keep track of which retort goes with which insult.
- Adventure in Barrnys in the pirate disguise until you meet the captain. Use the map, fight the booty crab, adventure again in barnys until you meet the captain. Use the frat-boy outfit with the map and return to barrnys with the teeth. This opens up a insult beer-pong game where you use the insults you have learned. There are 3? rounds, after which you gain access to a new area on the pirate ship.
- Adventure (in disguise) on the pirate ship (The F'c'le), picking up three different quest items and using them: A mop, some shampoo, and some ball cleaner. Continue adventuring in The F'c'le until you encounter the captain and get the rewards. Opens up the Poop Deck.Gront 23:21, 3 December 2007 (CST)
in the Beer Pong
1) Face like drowned goat
Retort: compare with girlfriend
2) Steets red with blood
Retort: yellow would be your color
Retort: smell of your breath?

"Are ye prepared for a taste of my blade, swine?" "First you'd better stop waving it around like a feather-duster."
"You're more pathetic than a toothless watchdog!" The pirate sneers at you and replies "I'm not really comfortable being compared to your girlfriend that way."
"I hear tell yer mother were naught but a drunken harlot." The pirate sneers at you and replies "That reminds me, tell your wife and sister I had a lovely time last night."
"My sword will slice ye from crotch to sternum, ye scurvy cur." The pirate sneers at you and replies "Obviously neither your tongue nor your wit is sharp enough for the job."
"Are ye prepared for a taste of my blade, swine?" The pirate sneers at you and replies "It can't be any worse than the smell of your breath!"
"Many wretches like ye have challenged me, but not one of them has succeeded!" The pirate sneers at you and replies "It only seems that way because you haven't learned to count to one."
"I'll teach ye the meaning of fear, ye gutless coward!" The pirate sneers at you and replies "It's an honor to learn from such an expert in the field."
"My skill with the blade makes men like you green with envy!" The pirate sneers at you and replies "I'd've thought yellow would be more your color."
"You're as ugly a maggot as any I've laid eyes upon!" The pirate sneers at you and replies "Amazing! How do you manage to shave without using a mirror?"
It appears that the beer pong uses variation of all these. But in general, keywords will give you hints on what the answer would be. These are all the possible answer from using the book of insults.

"Are ye prepared for a taste of my blade, swine?" "First you'd better stop waving it around like a feather-duster." That one is wrong --Faggle 02:22, 4 December 2007 (CST)
I adventured on the poop deck for a while, and was given a choice to pay 977 meat to steer the ship! You have to input a number (Longitude) [1-242], and (Latitude) [1-100]. I inputted 121/100, and got a 'simple ancient cursed key' in my misc. items. I have yet to get another turn at the wheel in 50 turns. --Jimmyjunk 0211, 04 December 2007 (MST)
