The gremlins here seem to be either extraordinarily strong, scale to your level or manage to ignore normal combat mechanics. Adventuring here with 370 Moxie I still get hit every single turn. --Airicus1 12:44, 19 July 2007 (CDT)

  • They never miss. It's noted on each gremlin's page. --TechSmurf 12:47, 19 July 2007 (CDT)

Mutagen drops

I've had normal gremlin mutagen drop here from vegetable, erudite, and AMC gremlins; not the extra potent variety. Could this depend on the outfit you completed the junkyard quest for (i completed it in fratguise)? Or do both kinds drop and have i been RNG'ed since I didn't really spend much adventures here post-war yet? --Nappa 04:13, 24 July 2007 (CDT)

  • One hundred adventure spent here say that you may be on the right path... i'll add it to the main article, with a request for fellow spaders to confirm.--Worthstream 06:06, 24 July 2007 (CDT)
    • I've been farming a lot in the Junkyard after I completed the quest, and I've only gotten the regular variety. Not a single extra-strength one. I completed all side-quests and Quest as a Frat Warrior. It makes sense that hippies would get a better reward (stronger variant) because they complete the quest later, much like how Frat Warriors get healed HP and MP by the Nuns whereas Hippies only get one. I will independently confirm that mutagen drops are based on which outfit you completed the quest in, and add in no mutagen drops for not doing the quest at all. I've not gotten a single mutagen on the character that did zero side quests, so it's either no mutagen, or super-evil RNG hate. --Yehman 12:57, 27 July 2007 (CDT)

Also, you can get the mutagen from the gremlins in the four sub-areas during the war once you've completed this sub-quest; I just obtained an extra-strength one (having gotten the tools as a war hippy) from an erudite gremlin Next to that Barrel with Something Burning in it. You don't have to wait until post-war. --Terion 03:16, 1 September 2007 (CDT)

I can confirm that the normal mutagen drops if you complete the quest as a frat boy, and extra strength mutagens drop for hippies. Quialiss 16:27, 25 September 2007 (CDT)

Available without doing the quest?

Since gremlin juice is sometimes required for the door then one would assume either:

  • This zone is available post war without doing the sub-quest; or
  • The door can only require gremlin juice if you did the sub-quest (unlikely because of telescope); or
  • There is another way to get comic violence; or
  • You could get stuck at the door with no gremlins and no way to get gremlin juice.

Your first assumption is correct. --Bale Frend 07:17, 30 July 2007 (CDT)

Yes; you can adventure here post-war without doing the sub-quest.
