Talk:Steel-scented air freshener

I can confirm that Steel-scented air freshener uses 5 spleen. I used mine on day 2 of NS13 (26 Jun 2007), and I also consumed three not-a-pipes (4 spleen each for a total of 12) and three strongness elixirs (1 spleen each for a total of 3). I was not able to consume any more strongness elixirs thereafter.

I don't know how to edit the wiki, so I'll let someone else change the page, but I wanted to confirm.

Is it really level requirement 5? How did someone try it at 4? Edit: Oh, it says so in the description. Haven't checked ingame desc. in so long.--Gils 15:01, 31 August 2007 (CDT)

Questioning item status of Steel-scented air freshener

Furthermore, my air freshener was *not* a quest item, but instead was found in the spleen area of my consumables page. Can someone confirm, or has this been changed today?

Certain items despite being quest items override being sorted into the quest item category, see for instance the huge mirror shard. --Veistran 18:46, 5 July 2007 (CDT)

Reference

The last line (specifically, "super, man") is likely a reference to Superman, who was often reffered to as the Man of Steel (fitting, as it makes you more steely) --Deetviper 17:30, 27 June 2007 (CDT)

Spleen Consumption

I'm not sure when this would have changed (probably with the Hey Deze revamp I assume), but it seems like this item no longer takes any Spleen to use, it merely adds 5 to your maximum. Can anyone else verify this? Don't want to change it mistakenly just because I miscounted or something. --Idran 04:33, 17 February 2011 (UTC)

  • Did you try to use it with a full spleen? Because how it *should* work is that it adds 5 spleen AND takes 5 spleen; You need to have at least 5 spleen free to use it. So, if you have 0/15 and you use it, you'll have 5/20, thus being able to consume 15 points as per usual. But if you have 12/15, you won't be able to use it. Same as steel stomach with fullness.--Erich 04:53, 17 February 2011 (UTC)
