Picking several fights seems to advance the picture, at least for me. I picked several fights and went from image 3 to image 4. The next adventure was the club again, I picked several fights and now it's on image 5. --Lord kobel 05:05, 30 June 2008 (CDT)

Picking the big fight

On this round, I fought 51 hobos to advance from image 0 to 1 (losing 1 time). I bamboozled 4 times, flimflammed 1 time. I then was able to get in. My first barfight moved me from image 1 to 2, with 66 hobos killed. I started a second barfight, and stayed on image 2. I fought hobos til I got to image 3, which was at 70 hobos.

Assuming (based on data from other zones) that there are circa 50 hobos per image, then the first fight killed 35+. The second killed roughly <=56 hobos, accounting for 81 hobos.--Foggy 09:02, 9 July 2008 (CDT)

If the big fight gets rid of 10% of the remaining hobos in the zone rounded down, does that mean that it does nothing if there are fewer than 10 left?--Jett 10:15, 29 July 2008 (CDT)

  • That's why you use big fights at the start of the zone, and stop using them halfway through image 9.-QuantumNightmare 12:48, 29 July 2008 (CDT)

10% is probably not the correct % of hobos killed per barfight. One of our clannies diverted water 22 times, so that the club was open right at the beginning of PLD. We started 14 bar fights total. This means that Chester should have popped at ~114-120 hobos defeated (Doing 500 * .9 14 times). We actually defeated 238 Hobos. Using 5% gives much more accurate results, and seems much more in line with what Jick would do. If you 500 * .9 14 times, you get 242, which is very very close to the 238 hobos we actually killed. I would suggest a closer look at these numbers, and suggest changing the barfight numbers to 5% unless someone finds otherwise. I know that Jick changed some of the Hobopolis numbers a few weeks ago, and there is a reasonable likelihood that barfights were originally 10%, but that Jick lowered the the number to 5%. --Saucybandit 18:37, 3 August 2008 (CDT)

  • Did you kill any sleaze hobos before you had done all 14 barfights? If you had, then the barfights would be less effective than you thought they were since there were fewer hobos left in the zone, and you would have more than 118 hobos left at that point. Since the changes, I finished the PLD in 1 kill, followed by 34 barfights, followed by 18 hobo kills. That is exactly in line with the 10% figure I posted here. As well, the images after every barfight were: 1, 1, 2, 3, 4, 4, 5, 5, 6, 6, 6, 7, 7, 7, 7, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 9, 9, 9, 9, 9, 9, 9, 9, 9, 9, 9, 9. Again, exactly in line with a 10% (rounded down) kill per barfight. This spading looks solid to me.-QuantumNightmare 19:04, 3 August 2008 (CDT)
  • We killed hobos in between the bar fights. Which means that your numbers are correct. I guess I just got lucky... Sorry about the dust-up. --Saucybandit 20:35, 3 August 2008 (CDT)
  • No worries. In fact, thanks for trying to verify this spading. Much better for people like you to be critical about information on the wiki and make sure it is correct, than to blindly follow what is written when it seems to disagree with what you found yourself.-QuantumNightmare 22:40, 3 August 2008 (CDT)

Stat gains

Picking my nose gained 694/647/718 stats. Main stat must have been about 226 before that (228 afterward). --Greycat 20:51, 6 July 2008 (CDT)

From this, it would seem the gains aren't actually 1000 all of the time. I would conjecture that the stat gains are something like 3x(main stat) ± 50 (or maybe 40), capped at 1000. My main stat was over 600 and I got all 1000's, for reference. --Flargen 02:49, 15 July 2008 (CDT)

Seal clubber. Stats before: Mus: 483 (197), Mys: 167 (133) Mox: 148 (134). Gains: 609 Muscleboundness, 554 Wizardliness, 557 Cheek. --Prestige 08:19, 30 July 2008 (CDT)

Somehow I got 1100 Mys instead of 1000. I got 1000 of Mus and Mox. Can't think of anything I was wearing or effects that might have caused it. This has happened all eight times I've done it.--SenorEverClever 02:45, 27 May 2012 (CEST)
