As a Muscle class:
A little way down the tunnel, you encounter a large stone slab blocking your path. It features an elaborate bas-relief carving, which depicts an angry-looking man holding a spear and shield, who for some reason appears to be wearing the top of a bull's head on his head. Which is kind of uncomfortable-looking, not to mention gross, and probably explains why the man looks so angry.
There is a large hole in the wall next to the slab, the opening of a vertical shaft which drops away into darkness, like a garbage chute. Presumably, you're meant to drop something into the hole to make the door open.
- After inserting the wrong item:
You attempt to put your <item> in the hole, but some sort of invisible force pushes it away. I guess it's the wrong item, which is annoying, but at least you didn't needlessly lose your <item> down a bottomless pit.
- After inserting the viking helmet:
You put your viking helmet in the hole -- there's a slight resistance, almost as though you're pushing it through some manner of magical field. Then it drops away into darkness, and after a moment the stone slab slides into the ceiling with a loud grinding noise, opening the path before you.
As a Mysticality class:
A little way down the tunnel, you encounter a large stone slab blocking your path. It features an elaborate bas-relief carving, which depicts a man fighting a crowd of little tiny people. No, wait -- the man has a beard, so he must be a giant, and the people are normal-sized, I guess. The giant, oddly, appears to be wearing a tunic made of leaves, and is either wearing half of a giant cabbage for a hat, or else he just has a really strange haircut.
Below this scene, another is carved -- it appears to be a close-up view, of one of the little people preparing to stab the giant in the ankle with what looks like some kind of extremely short spear.

- After inserting the stalk of asparagus:
You put your stalk of asparagus in the hole -- there's a slight resistance, almost as though you're pushing it through some manner of magical field. Then it drops away into darkness, and after a moment the stone slab slides into the ceiling with a loud grinding noise, opening the path before you.
As a Moxie class:
A little way down the tunnel, you encounter a large stone slab blocking your path. It features an elaborate bas-relief carving, which depicts a pair of hands with little lines radiating off of them. The hands are surrounded by little stars and circles and squiggly shapes, which are trailing lines of their own, seemingly indicating that the objects are flying towards the hands and then bouncing off. Also, above the hands are some little winged dots with wiggly motion lines, which you guess are probably flies? Maybe? Could also be like little flying saucers I suppose.

You attempt to put your <item> in the hole, but some sort of invisible force pushes it away. I guess it's the wrong item, which is annoying, but at least you didn't needlessly lose your <item> down a bottomless pit.
- After inserting the dirty hobo gloves:
You put your dirty hobo gloves in the hole -- there's a slight resistance, almost as though you're pushing it[sic] through some manner of magical field. Then they drop away into darkness, and after a moment the stone slab slides into the ceiling with a loud grinding noise, opening the path before you.
Occurred in The Dark and Dank and Sinister Cave/Pre-2015.
Notes
- Passing this door leads to the second door puzzle.
- The following additional text appears for any class if you don't have the correct item in your inventory, and it's not your first try:
- Grumbling, you riffle through your pack, unable to find anything that looks similar to what the engravings seem to be implying. It's possible you simply don't have whatever the door is looking for -- perhaps you need to do some more exploring?"
- You can adventure here even when falling-down drunk.
- Does not consume an adventure.
References
- Alhough the description makes no reference to the giant's emotional state or skin pigmentation, the "tunic made of leaves" and "half of a giant cabbage for a hat" identify the creature as the Jolly Green Giant.
