Notes

Previous versions

  • Before approximately August 29th 2019 this item was named "roofie". It had the description:
This is a piece of the roof from the Orcish Frat House. It probably should be called a rooflet, I guess, but do you really expect frat boys to use English properly without a cheat sheet? Rumor has it that the frat boys use these to knock people out and do horrible things to them.
  • When used from inventory:

You smack yourself in the face with the roofie.
Confused.gifYou acquire an effect: Confused

Lips.gifYou acquire an effect: Amorous

  • In combat:
You slip your opponent the roofie. By which, of course, I mean you chuck it at his head (or head-analogue) as hard as you can. It makes a satisfying thud, and your opponent looks pretty dazed, if those cartoon birds circling his head are any indication.

You slip your opponent the roofie. You figure the most subtle way to do that is to chuck it at its head as hard as you can. It hits it hard between the eyes, and it says "a whole lotta lumps" and passes out.

  • Before having its description and picture changed on August 2nd 2006, this featured the first occurrence of a swear-word as strong as "asshole" in an item description. Its original description was:
This is a roofie. Orcish Frat Boys slip these tiny pills into Orcish Sorority Girls' drinks when they want to take advantage of them. Like, y'know, if they want to borrow the girl's meat car without filling up the tank, or talk her into getting them a job at her uncle's lawfirm or something.

It's an asshole move, but we'll leave it to you to decide if you're an asshole or not.
  • Old old combat text:
You slip your opponent the roofie. It grins, looks around dreamily, and passes out.

References

  • "Roofie" is a slang term for Rohypnol, a powerful sedative, sometimes used as a "date rape" drug. Frat boys have a stereotype of slipping them into a woman's drink in order to rape them, hence the "Amorous" effect.
  • Both the hit messages refer to Western animation. The cartoon birds are a well-known visual representation of a dazed state, and the "whole lotta lumps" is a specific reference to Pete Puma's penultimate line in the 1952 Bugs Bunny cartoon Rabbit's Kin.
  • Shingles is a viral disease characterized by skin rash.
