Description
Recovering the Sisters' Meat is a sidequest in the Mysterious Island Quest. Bandits from The Themthar Hills have stolen all the meat from the nunnery, and the nuns need your help getting it back. The nunnery can initially only be accessed while wearing the War Hippy Fatigues. It becomes available while wearing the Frat Warrior Fatigues after 191 (the message shows up at 192) Hippies have been killed. |
Tasks
- Visit the nunnery and talk to one of the nuns. She'll tell you about the bandits.
- Go to The Themthar Hills and start fighting bandits. They drop thousands of Meat, but don't get too excited. Any Meat they drop will be collected by the nuns at the end of battle.
- The bandits have stolen 100,000 Meat in total. You can tell how much you've collected by the message at the end of battle:
Sister <name> approaches you and takes the Meat. "Thank you for recovering this Meat!" she says. | |
0-24,999 Meat: | "Almost all of the Meat is still in the hands of those bandits -- please continue your efforts!" |
---|---|
25,000-49,999 Meat: | "You've recovered a good portion of the stolen Meat, but there's still plenty left." |
50,000-74,999 Meat: | "You've recovered more than half of what was stolen, Adventurer! It won't be long now!" |
75,000-99,999 Meat: | "You're almost done! It won't be long now until all of the Meat is recovered!" |
100,000 Meat: | "I think this is the last of it! However can we repay you for your assistance?" |
- Once you recover all 100,000 Meat, the nuns will thank you and ask how they can help.
Rewards
- If you finished as a Hippy, they will heal up to 1,000 HP up to three times a day.
- If you finished as a Frat Boy, they will heal up to 1,000 HP and 1,000 MP up to three times a day.
- You can come here for healing even after the war is over.
Text
Visiting the nunnery without wearing soldier fatigues:
- "Sorry, Adventurer, but we're in the middle of something of a crisis, here, and we're waiting for the soldiers to come help us."
Visiting the nunnery in war fatigues:
- "Oh, thank Heavens you've arrived! We need help, soldier! Most desperately!"
- "Calm down, calm down," you say, "what's the problem?"
- "This morning, when Sister Medulla went to put the daily donation deposit in our safe, she found that it was empty! Those filthy, thieving, dirty rotten bandits from the Themthar Hills have stolen all of our Meat!
- We'd be ever so grateful if you'd get it back for us."
After collecting all 100,000 Meat in War Hippy Fatigues:
- Sister <name> approaches you and takes the Meat. "Thank you for recovering this Meat!" she says. "I think this is the last of it! However can we repay you for your assistance?"
- "Well," you say, "it would really help the war effort if your convent could serve as a hospital for our wounded troops."
- "Consider it done," she says. "Stop by whenever you need healing, and we'll be glad to assist you."
Subsequent visits:
- "Hello, weary Adventurer! Please, allow us to tend to your wounds."
After collecting all 100,000 Meat in Frat Warrior Fatigues:
- Sister <name> approaches you and takes the Meat. "Thank you for recovering this Meat!" she says. "I think this is the last of it! However can we repay you for your assistance?"
- "Well," you say, "it would really help the war effort if your convent could serve as a massage parlor. Y'know... to help our troops relax."
- "Consider it done," she says, winking. "Stop by whenever you're feeling tense, and one of our sisters will take care of you."
Subsequent visits:
- "Adventurer! You look so... so tense! Please, allow us to use our skilled hands to give you a refreshing massage."
After visiting the Sisters for your reward three times in one day:
- "I'm sorry, but all of the Sisters are busy right now. Perhaps you could return tomorrow?"
Trying to return to The Themthar Hills after all the Meat has been retrieved:
- You've already retrieved all of the stolen Meat
Notes
- Anything which increases Meat from Monsters is very useful.
- The nuns do not take any Meat acquired by using a meat vortex, black plastic oyster egg, Cocoabo, Hobo Monkey, Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot or Skeletal Rogue.
- The sisters do not take any Meat dropped by CLEESHed bandits.
- If you use meat vortices and then CLEESH the bandits, run away, or use any other method of ending combat, you can in theory get permanent Meat from them without completing the side-quest. However, this nets an average of 500 meat per turn + meat vortex.
- The "Putty Trick":
- As of January 1, 2019, Brigands can no longer be copied
- It was possible to finish this sidequest as a Frat before killing enough monsters on the battlefield to access this area as a Frat. It required the use of monster copies. It also required that you have both of the war outfits.
- First, get a copy of a brigand from A Fax Machine or by fighting one in the War Hippy Uniform. Kill brigands in the War Hippy Uniform, keeping track of the total meat you've recovered, until the next brigand would finish the quest. Then switch to the Frat Warrior Outfit and kill the copied brigand. This will give you credit for completing the quest as a Frat.
- If you use this trick and aren't wearing a complete war outfit from either side, the win will default to the Frats.
- Finishing this quest before stepping onto the Battlefield at all saves 8 Battlefield turns if you're doing Frat-5 (Arena, Junkyard, Beach, Orchard, Nuns).

- The nuns are named after parts of the central nervous system, including Amygdala, Cerebellum, Medulla, Colliculi, Fornix, Ganglia, and Hippocampus.
- "Sisters of Perpetual Indecision" is most likely a reference to the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a charitable group of gay men who do good works in nun drag.
