Combat Messages
- Regular messages:
- Start of combat:

Monster attack power reduced by X Monster defense reduced by X - A beam of light descends from the heavens, enveloping you with glorious radiance. Your opponent finds this somewhat distracting.

- During Combat (sometimes):
- A stream of random voices enter your mind. They say: "A. B. UP. LEFT. A. A. START. DOWN. B. LEFT. A."
Your limbs move automatically, jerking you about the scenery as you opponent watches, puzzled by your sudden spasm. This ends with you smashing your foe to the ground with an attack you didn't even know was possible, dealing 151 damage.

- After Combat:
- A shaft of warm light envelops your fallen opponent, and they ascend bodily to the heavens. You feel a great sense of peace and tranquility, and it doesn't even occur to you how friggin weird this is.
You gain some hit points. You gain some Mana Points. - A little girl runs up and shouts for your opponent to return to her. She somehow stuffs <her> into a little red and white ball, and stomps off, sulking at her loss. You don't really know what's going on, but victory feels good?

- With lucky Tam O'Shanter equipped:
- <name> doesn't have eyes, but it sort of projects the emotion of winking at you.
- With miniature gravy-covered maypole equipped:
- <name> sits majestically near the maypole.
- With wax lips equipped:
- <name>'s power and majesty are not diminished by the ridiculous wax lips you've put on it.
Arena Messages
When entered in an Ultimate Cage Match, Obstacle Course or Scavenger Hunt:
- <name> can't move under its own power, so it's not very effective.
Notes
- At the start of combat, delevels by familiar weight/2. (always?)
- Restores HP/MP at the end of combat <frequency>% of the time.
- Grants the combat skill Consult the Helix Fossil.
- Occasionally does a physical attack dealing 151 damage (before reductions).
References
- One giant homage to Twitch Plays Pokémon ("TPP").
- In TPP, the constant stream of pseudo-random user input led to the frequent use of items that did nothing, like the S.S. Ticket and Helix Fossil. This, of course, led to the playerbase creating an entire religion around the great Helix Fossil.
- The "anarchy" in the haiku refers to the "democracy vs. anarchy" system used later on in the game. In the player-made TPP canon, the Helix Fossil was the champion of anarchy, and the Dome Fossil (the Helix's evil nemesis) the champion of democracy.
- Enemies walking off of a ledge refers to one of TPP's great stumbling blocks -- long ledges where anyone pressing "down" would start the whole thing over.
- The phrase "it's not very effective", in the arena message, is a more general Pokemon reference.
- 151 is the number of catchable pokemons in the first generation.
