• The hatchling and its grown form are a pun on "acute" (less than 90 degrees) and "obtuse" angles (greater than 90 but less than 180 degrees).
• The mention of tacos is a reference to Good Burger where the protagonist, Ed, is said to be "two tacos short of a combination plate".
• The hatchling appeared in Mr. Store in February, which is associated with Valentine's day both in KoL and in real life. He resembles the popular cultural concept of Cupid, the small, plump angel who shoots people with arrows of love.
