Vampire Hunter G

On your way into the Spooky Forest, you meet the famed Vampire Hunter G. "You! Have you seen any vampires around here? The forest is crawling with them. Crawling!"

"I... er..." you stammer.

"Take these. If you find a vampire, use them to impale it and then tear out its heart. Then bring the heart back to me. I use them for... for... never mind what I use them for! Stop asking so many questions!"

"But I didn't..." you say, as as^[sic] he shoves some stakes into your hands and disappearing into the trees.

You acquire an item: wooden stakes

• This adventure refers to an anime called Vampire Hunter D, which was based on several novels written by Japanese horror writer Hideyuki Kikuchi and illustrated by Yoshitaka Amano.
• Before the Spooky Forest was redone on April 11, 2006, the adventure text read, On your way into the Spooky Forest, you meet a vampire hunter. "Have you seen any vampires around here?" he says. "Nope," you say. "Bummer. If you do see any, use these." This suggested to some that the "G" came from the last name of Sarah Michelle Gellar, who played Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the cult TV series of the same name. The connection was that G resembled a blonde female, and spoke like a valley girl.
