You're fighting The KrampusAs you reach toward the flickering violet light of Uncle Crimbo's Hat chakra, a howl of rage behind you kicks on your dodging instincts. You jump aside, and narrowly avoid a flaying from a handful of razor-sharp claws.
The beast in question is a demon of the old-school standard -- a wiry black-haired goat-man, with long curving horns and fire in his eyes. And also, you notice, Uncle Crimbo's pointy red hat hanging from one of his horns.
"Interloper!" it howls. "I will not permit this!"
"You must be the Krampus," you say. "I suppose it was inevitable that you'd show up eventually. So you're trying to stop Uncle Crimbo from reaching his final enlightenment or whatever? What's your beef?"
The demon shrugs. "I hate him and want him to fail?"
"That's it?"
"Yeah, sorry. If you were expecting some tragic heartbreaking backstory or something: nope. I'm an irredeemable creature of hate and malice and that's pretty much the long and short of it."
"Well, that makes things simpler, at least."
