I'm only a n00b so do what you will to this page :) --Ion42 16:45, 27 July 2006 (CDT)

  • How exactly does this differ from Weapons (by power), other than the ice sickle being at the bottom of the list? --Quietust 16:54, 27 July 2006 (CDT)
    • It appears something went wrong when I submitted the page, fixed now. The difference is slight, I admit, but i separated Muscle and Moxie requirements as well as weapons without requirements. If you feel this page is unnecessary, feel free to delete it, it was just something i missed when deciding what to pull from Hagnks. --Ion42 17:20, 27 July 2006 (CDT)
  • I personally don't see much of a use for this page, but it doesn't hurt to have it around. My only concern would be if it doesn't get updated very often and ends up misleading people who think it is up to date. --Deadgoat 19:35, 27 July 2006 (CDT)
  • It used to be that power and requirement were basically equivalent, as the formula for requirement was (power - 30)/2. With the latest wave of weapons, Jick has deviated from the old formula. As the requirement is probably more important than the power (at least for ascenders, who are the large majority of KoL players), I think it makes sense to go with Weapons by requirement as the primary table, especially since deviations tend to occur in the lower end of the power scale. I'm not sure what to do with Weapons by Power; maintain it or delete it. I'm leaning towards deletion, but am wavering. On hats pants and pants, everything still adheres to the old formula, but we might have to go through the same decision on them in the future. --Gymnosophist 18:28, 23 August 2006 (CDT)

Is this page being maintained, or is Weapons (by power)? I know it was recently editited (20070121) but the power (and req.) of the grave robbing shovel is wrong and I don't see the rusty grave robbing shovel listed at all. --John. 07:47, 3 February 2007 (CST)

I also don't see flaming juggler's balls on the list. But still, it is nice being able to look up info on requirements, when you're trying to plan for an ascension.--Teegers 16:15, 26 February 2007 (CST)

A vast number of items is missing on this page... Just comparing the Moxie Weapons with the Weapons (by power) page yielded 15 missing weapons. --Popovitsj 11:40, 13 March 2007 (CDT)

This page is ridiculously out of date, it's almost impossible to update it, there's just way too many things to fix. Any ideas for a quick way of getting it back on track? EliteJeff 14:03, 11 July 2007 (CDT)

Well, I've been working on updating this and all of the other charts with the new NS13 stuff (although my contributions don't show in the page's history for some reason). It's not at all impossible to update it. I've been going through Locations and updating the charts item-by-item, but if you're only interested in this chart, just comb the Weapons category for new items and add them. Most items have the correct categories already. --Demyx (talk)
That's what i've been doing (updating other charts with new things), I just want to get this one into shape too. I guess it's not impossible, it just takes a lot of work. There are more than 30 missing weapons, it needs to be linked, the format needs to be changed, etc. It will take a long while to fix all of it. EliteJeff 15:17, 11 July 2007 (CDT)
Nevermind, it was surprisingly easy :P I took away the 'weapons without requirements' list because it seemed like a waste, you could see all those sorts of weapons easily by simply scrolling down to the bottom of each of the three lists. Well, i'm done here then. EliteJeff 16:09, 11 July 2007 (CDT)

I think once we get all the info onto this page I'll port it over to a permanent spot on Visual KoL, complete with pictures and color coding. I like it, and it's a good idea. --jin 11:57, 19 May 2005 (Central Daylight Time)

  • Yeah. And if I hate myself enough, I could take a stab at hats, pants, or accessories. -- Monochrome Jesus 23:40, 19 May 2005 (Central Daylight Time)
  • What would you do for accessories? I might be willing to do hats or pants, though. Other than that, should we have the especially homoerotic frat-paddle on here somewhere? I can't seem to find any information on it...--Yiab 03:23, 20 May 2005 (Central Daylight Time)
  • I don't know about the especially homoerotic frat-paddle. The link to it from Coldfront doesn't seem to work so I don't know if it still exists, and the stats I've seen for it at different sites vary.
Accessories I'm not sure about. *shrug* Just threw it in with the others out of habit. -- Monochrome Jesus 05:01, 20 May 2005 (Central Daylight Time)
  • Yeah, I was filling out the missing custom items yesterday and i noticed that coldfront links to something weird. Considering coldfront links directly to the KoL servers rather than storing their own data, I think this deserves being asked on the next J&S show this Monday. After all, everybody seems to get interested when something happens to one of the well-known players. Of course, it might have been an ascension bug, so he might not be able to say anything about it.--Yiab 21:43, 20 May 2005 (Central Daylight Time)
  • I'd guess Jick moved it somewhere else in the database, to help with the denials of it's existence. -- Monochrome Jesus 23:26, 20 May 2005 (Central Daylight Time)
  • According to what I have been told, the especially homoerotic frat-paddle was removed from the game. It doesn't exist anymore. --Aardvark (Talk | Contribs) 00:41, 2 Oct 2005 (MDT)

With the implementation of all these new Off-hand Items, I'd love to see a new column which lists the number of hands a weapon requires, and/or a specific 1-Handed Weapons (by power) page. --Gothhenge 16:56, 9 February 2006 (Central Standard Time)

  • Done. See One-handed weapons (by power). If you want to move it to 1-Handed Weapons (by power), that's fine, but I saw that someone had already created a One-Handed Weapons category, so I went with that. --Baltar 23:03, 9 February 2006 (Central Standard Time)

New weapons

I've flagged this page for needing content, as the new post-Tuesday weapons need to be added. --rkMerafel 02:01, 18 August 2006 (CDT)

It looks like it needs the new tuesday weapons also.--Anmbia 13:01, 18 August 2006 (CDT)

  • done, now it just needs the new utensils--Anmbia 22:49, 18 August 2006 (CDT)

I added upgraded ram and Snow Queen things, the icy peak is done, now --Kaiou 08:12, 30 August 2006 (CDT)

Customs are in!

Just put them in now. That's alright, isn't it? --Krakatoa Manty 18:31, 31 August 2006 (CDT)

  • I seem to recall a decision that was made not to include the custom items in any items list, because they aren't accessible to the common or garden KoLer. I'll revert the edit. --rkMerafel 05:32, 5 September 2006 (CDT)

Obsoleteness of other pages?

I just noticed the three pages that had to be updated for a single change on the CBS-- Weapons (by requirement), One-handed weapons, and this page. With the implementation of sorted lists, though, the same charts as those pages can be achieved by clicking to sort by requirements and weapon type, respectively. So do we still need the other two pages?

...Come to think of it, a lot of pages full of redundant information can be cleared up by way of sorted lists. Sorted lists for president! --TechSmurf 12:23, 14 June 2007 (CDT)

  • I'd be wary, because a bit of computing power is required just resort and we can't just rely on javascript to feature substantial content. Just for reference, this was mentioned here before.--Dehstil (t|c) 12:32, 14 June 2007 (CDT)

I've been searching all over the wiki, and I don't think there's an explanation anywhere for the "power" statistic. From what I've seen, the greater the weapon power, the more likely you'll miss. 1) Is this explained anywhere, and I'm just missing it, and 2) is that how power works?--Vickr 15:16, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

  • I feel stupid. Nevermind. It was actually in the weapon damage formula all along. The only reason I've been missing is that I've got crappy stats against the monsters I've been fighting, and the RNG loves messing with my mind.--Vickr 15:38, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

Can someone add the Super-Sweet Boom Box to this list? - AvangionQ / August 8th, 2010

This may not be entirely accurate, as I got this list by comparing in Excel this page to all weapons from the 1-handed, 2-handed, and 3-handed category pages. I would do the addition myself, but there's a limit to how much time I can spend per day on the wiki. Presumably, the other weapon pages would also need the same edits.-Foggy (talk) 20:04, 12 June 2014 (UTC)
