Talk:Wad of dough

I know that a wad of dough is a stack of money, but I'm also curious as to whether this might be a reference to the "Irrational Exuberance (Yatta)" meme that was popular some time ago. I only ask because the purposefully wrong translation of the song's lyrics (repeated twice) was "Is so easy. Happy go lucky. We are the wad of dough. We didn't eat Q! Q! Q! Q! S! S! S! S!"

For those unfamiliar, View Here. I think this may be one of the exceptionally subtle KoL jokes that most people miss (I'm pretty sure I only noticed it because I'm almost as drunk as my character). Also, at one point, the video says "A Winner Is You". I see this as exceedingly weak confirmation of my theory. --Steve the Mighty 23:47, 28 February 2007 (CST)

  • Why assume this has any relation to money anyways? A "wad of dough" might be used as monetary slang, but that does not mean that this item is a reference to money. In fact, if you have a floury substance used for making bread (no, not money, again) and if it is a "lump" of a certain size, it can be described as a "wad of dough" with no irony, pun, or reference to anything else. I do agree with Bakapyrite that this may not be a reference to money at all, but that's just one of those things ... there are SO MANY vague references in this game. Pointing out the little ones may be silly because the creators never meant to make that particular reference, but you never know. And, really, is it not, in some fashion, funnier to find unintentional jokes like that?
