Effects of Changing Gender

It would be nice if someone made a page listing the effects of being one gender or the other. --Kandrew 16:50, 28 Jul 2005 (Central Daylight Time)

Yeah, for example only females can get the Suave Knob Goblin Elite Guardsman.--Atlantima 17:04, 4 Sep 2005 (Central Daylight Time)

ZachsMind: After having said yes to Under the Knife (under the incorrect assumption it would make it easier to get certain shirts), I have spent several adventures in Sleazy Back Alley attempting to see the Under the Knife adventure again, so I can switch back. This has revealed to me that the odds of that adventure appearing again are appearingly less than before. In other words, I have yet to see Under the Knife come up again, to switch back to the previous gender. I do not know if this is coincidental or intentional. Would be funny if it was the latter. This bears further research before we can add this to the actual article. It's possible the Under the Knife adventure option becomes a rare page after having used it once, or may not come up at all.

This adventure is limited to one occurance per person per day. From the J&S show 10-17-05. --Shagie 20:31, 17 Oct 2005 (MDT)

Uh, no. I've been hitting the Sleazy Back Alley for 60+ adventures each day (going for a certain trophy) and I see this adventure 3-4 times a day. --Mozai 08:27, 9 Nov 2005 (MST)

"one occurance per day"??? I had about 4 occurances today (one after changing my gendre), I think it's wrong --Dorham 09:41, 14 December 2005 (Central Standard Time)

If you decline to have the operation, the adventure will not appear until the next rollover. If you have the operation, the adventure will still appear. --Pastamancer5 14:19, 17 March 2006 (CST)

Does increasing non-combat incidence rate increase the chances of getting this adventure? --Blahking 02:55, 25 March 2006 (CST)

  • Choice adventures are non-combat adventures. So yes. --Ricket 05:15, 25 March 2006 (CST)

About the rarity of this adventure: I once received this adventure 10 times in one day with Sonata and a ring of conflict. I used all my day's adventures in the Alley though... Just saying.--Someone Else 10:56, 22 June 2006 (CDT)

(Ring of Conflict + Sonata of Sneakiness) * 108 adventures = 1 Under the Knife. Yesterday under the same conditions I got 2. Level 13 Accordian Thief with a 25-26lbs stabbat, and both days were moxie days, for what it's worth. --Mozai 12:04, 3 July 2006 (CDT)

-15% Combat adventures, 250 turns per day, got all I needed for the trophy in 4 days. One day I got it 12 times. Winterbay 21:48, 16 July 2006 (GMT-1)

Is it possible that the frequency for this adventure was fiddled with when the Alley was revamped? It seems to come up a lot less that it used to. (That, or the RNG is messing with me.) --LegendaryBard 16:23, 2 December 2006 (CST)

  • I've noticed that too - to date I've seen this adventure no more than once ever since the reworking of the Alley. This in contrast to when I was getting close to a dozen of these per day, a few months back. So you may well be on to something there. - Seraphidel  [話] Talk  06:07, 3 December 2006 (CST)

I've been adventuring in the back alley for about a week now, using around 200 adventures per day. Ring of Conflict equipped, and for at least 400 adventures Deodorant too. I've received only one a day when selecting to change gender. It usually appears after around 20-30 adventures, leaving about 170 adventures each day without one. I'd think it's only a once a day thing rather than RNG screwage. --Lew b81 07:19, 15 December 2006 (CST)

It appears to be once a day now lets get the rest ironed out, and confermed. thanks --LoA 01:42, 23 December 2006 (CST)

Just to clarify, the operation itself is what's limited. If you try but lack 500 meat, the adventure can appear again on the same day. --H-Bar 23:41, 28 December 2006 (CST)

I've spent three days adventuring in the alley, and have only received this adventure once per day. Each day was with over 200 adv. each. It's not days and days worth of stats gathering, but it's a pretty good bet at this point, that it really is now only once per day. --Azmidiske 16:41, 31 December 2006 (CST)

I think there are a couple possibilities. One, is that it is once per day. The other is that it isn't once per day, but becomes increasingly rare each time you get it, and this "rare" factor resets during rollover. It is also possible that it doesn't reset, making it even harder to get the trophy and making the possibilities of getting the adventure even rarer. I don't know, but it might reset with each ascension, but it won't help much for the trophy. --Coolguy00001 16:14, 17 January 2007 (CST)

Alright, I can understand it not being a reference to Trauma Center, but how is this a reference to Peanuts? I mean, it's just a booth. Booths are everywhere. It's just a booth. I didn't remove it because I know a second later some guy would just be Mr. Incredible Wiki Editor and put it back, flinging some half-assed insult at me in the change notes. But seriously, that doesn't seem like a valid reference to me. --Robot Chicken 21:05, 22 September 2006 (CDT)

  • Well generally booths as pictured concern selling lemonade or possibly cookies, in Peanuts it is a play on this with Lucy selling psychological advice from a Doctor's Stand. Sure it might be stretching it a tiny bit but it seems entirely reasonable to me, and allow me to emphasize the implication is that it is a stand like a lemonade stand and not a booth. Just my two cents.--Practitioner of Saucy Arts 21:23, 22 September 2006 (CDT)
    • I'm not saying that it doesn't seem feasible; it just seems like a stretch, as you said. --Robot Chicken 21:27, 22 September 2006 (CDT)

How often exactly?

  • This adventure can occur multiple times a day, however it will not reappear until the following day once you change gender (during a single ascension). If you ascend on a given day, it is possible to change gender twice in that day.
(???) According to Multi Czar, this adventure occurs exactly once per day per ascension. Has anyone seen this adventure twice per day in the same ascension (decline first time, or agree without having enough meat first time)? -- this comment was added to the article by Lescha as of 2010-08-17T11:24:36
