Typical Tavern Reward Drinks

The wiki page says that the drink that you recieve is a random Advanced Cocktailcrafting drink. However, it seems to me that this can be further broken down as the received drink being determined by class. I did multiple runs with Pastamancers after the new quest came in, and recieved 3 ducha de oros EVERY time I completed the quest. On my first run today as a Sauceror, I recieved 3 a little sump'm sump'ms. Can anyone help figure out which classes receieve which drinks? (P.S. I'm a link whore, and a Mysticality class whore.)

Here are the discoveries so far:

ClassDrink Recieved
Accordion Thiefslap and tickle (3 of 3 - confirmed)
Disco Banditcalle de miel (3 of 3 - confirmed)
Pastamancerducha de oro (lots of 3 - confirmed)
Saucerora little sump'm sump'm (4 of 3- confirmed)
Seal Clubberpink pony (3 of 3- confirm3d)
Turtle Tamerocean motions (3 of 3 - confirmed)

I would say that getting two or three different inputs from different Ascension runs or multiple people would constitute a valid confirmation. Also, I had the brainstorm the other day that perhaps it was based on zodiac signs, but I checked and my last few ascensions have been different Mysticality signs, so that concept is out the window. -- Knuckassin 01:41, 25 November 2005 (Central Standard Time)

  • ('Sawright, I didn't mean to be a grouch.) I haven't kept track of what rewards I've gotten for this quest, but I wouldn't be surprised if it were based on your class rather than purely random. We'll need more data, so I'll add a "Needs Content" flag to the page. -- Old Ned 01:53, 25 November 2005 (Central Standard Time)
  • I'm a Pastamancer and got 3 Duchas as well, so yeah, it's probably determined by class. Methnor 08:07, 25 November 2005 (Central Standard Time)
  • Pastamancer here, duchas des oros as well. - Throb
  • OK, I just ran my two Turtle Tamer multis through the quest and got ocean motions. Could use at least one more confirmation of this. Thanks everyone for the inputs, but we definately don't need anymore PM confirmations. -- Knuckassin 05:41, 27 November 2005 (Central Standard Time)
  • By the way, I'm pretty sure I got Calle de Miels as a DB. Methnor 07:55, 27 November 2005 (Central Standard Time)
  • My DB received calle de miel as well. For every example, the drink as been a blended Advanced Cocktailcrafting drink. The blend has always been primary stat garnish with a secondary stat mixed drink. So, I've filled in my predictions in the table above. --Crowther 10:06, 27 November 2005 (Central Standard Time)
  • Sauceror sump'm sump'm confirmed. Do what you will with the table. --Alpaca 18:47, 27 November 2005 (Central Standard Time)
  • seal clubber this accension - 3 pink ponies. Table altered Teffania
  • Saucerer, 3 lil sumpn sumpn holla --Pastamancer5 00:33, 30 November 2005 (Central Standard Time)
  • Seal Clubber, got 3 pink ponies updated the table count.--Veistran 12:10, 30 November 2005 (Central Standard Time)
  • I'm a Sauceror now, and just got 3 little sump'm sump'ms. I've updated the table, although Sauceror was "confirmed" anyway. --Pcentella 11:00, 3 December 2005 (Central Standard Time)
  • As a Seal Clubber, I too received 3 pink ponies. table updated. --jin 12:44, 3 December 2005 (Central Standard Time)
  • I ran an Accordion Thief multi through the quest and recieved slap & tickle. --pigthecow 18.42, 12 December 2005 (Eastern Time)
  • My Accordion Thief just got three slap and tickle, I updated the table to 2 of 3.--Dorham 07:41, 16 December 2005 (Central Standard Time)
  • just beat the quest as an Accordian Thief, got the three slap and tickles. Updated table to 3 of 3.--BrettDay 02:10, 17 December 2005 (Central Standard Time)
  • My Disco Bandit just got 3 calle de miels. Updated table to 3 of 3. I have a friend, also a Disco Bandit, who also confirms that she got 3 of them from the Typical Tavern too. --Jgf 02:35, 29 December 2005 (Central Standard Time)
  • Turtle Tamer; 3 Ocean Motions. Updated table. All are now confirmed, yes? (Also, the Council did not present the Friars quest until I completed this one. But perhaps that belongs on the quests page...) --Ersatzhiphop 23:05, 10 January 2006 (Central Standard Time)

  • I'm changing the page, it sounds like we have research and consensus. If anything changes, we can always edit. peace --Pastamancer5 00:39, 8 February 2006 (Central Standard Time)

  • I noticed that the reference to Donnie Darko was removed some time ago. Although we tend to remove references to references, as they are usually not the actual intention of the developers, in this case I think it should be put back. Mr Skullhead is a Donnie Darko fan himself, as evidenced by his clan Sparkle Motion!, and thus most likely made the reference directly to Donnie Darko. If no one objects, I am putting the reference back in a short time, and all objections should be discussed here. --Fryguy9 11:37, 22 January 2006 (Central Standard Time)
  • I agree, the refernce in this case isn't really being made to the originator of the phrase but more likely the movie. --Veistran 12:51, 22 January 2006 (Central Standard Time)
  • Unconfirmed: If a character turns off the faucet without first defeating Baron Von Ratsworth, that character will never have a good adventure in the Tavern afterwards, but will typically lose stats, along with 100 meat, each time he or she adventures there.

I did not fight the Baron during my first two runs (didn't know about him), yet I used the tavern extensively to get stats, so that must have been bad luck. Shall I edit it on the page (never wrote in a wiki before)?

Someone please clean up the redundancy with the drink rewards here. --sl1me 14:18, 24 April 2006 (CDT)

  • I think things are OK as they are. --Gymnosophist 18:53, 24 April 2006 (CDT)
  • Do you think the "Rat Faucet" itself is a reference to the Frank Zappa album Waka Jawaka which features a sink with one faucet labeled "hot" and the other "rats"? --FauxReal 06:53, 16 June 2007 (CDT)
  • The Rats in the Walls is originally a short story by H.P. Lovecraft, possibly referencing that also?--Johnypoopoopants 15:05, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

Does the reward change if you are a Teetotaler, or do you just get 3 drinks you can't consume (yet)? --Jonrock 13:44, 13 October 2006 (CDT)

You get the flagons of Typical Tavern swill regardless of any dietary restrictions. Currently, only the KOLHS special challenge path nets you a different quest reward. --Mike Antleg III (talk) 05:00, 22 September 2013 (UTC)

NS13 Changes

Just completed this for the first time since NS13, and received a Whiskey and Soda. Looks like the drink rewards have been downgraded from Advanced Cocktailcrafting, or has Advanced Cocktailcrafting been downgraded? --Moosher 20:44, 25 June 2007 (CDT)

As a sauceror, i just got 3 whiskey and soda's too. --Christine444 08:31, 26 June 2007 (CDT)

Pastamancer = wine spritzers --Jairen1 02:49, 28 June 2007 (CDT)

Looks like the reward has been downgraded. I confirm what Jairen1 said. Pastamancer gets you 3 wine spritzers.--Arthas 18:00, 6 July 2007 (CDT)

Three whiskey sours as a Seal Clubber. --TellKenzine 16:14, 15 July 2007 (CDT)

Completing the quest as an Accordion Thief in Bad Moon got me 3 strawberry daiquiris. Perhaps you get different drinks in Bad Moon? --Gavisi 10:10, 10 August 2007 (CDT)

I just finished the quest with a new Accordion Thief character and I got 3 strawberry daiquiris as well. Psamathos 18:40, 1 September 2007 (CDT)

  • I also just got strawberry daiquiris as an AT in a HC no path run. Changing the article. --Terion 20:46, 16 November 2007 (CST)

I would just like to point out that the rewards for Seal Clubber in the table (which said 3 glasses of strawberry wine) and the in-game text message (which said 3 whiskey sours) are different. Could someone double check on which is the correct reward? BTW, it should be whiskey sour, right? Because, strawberry wine is a MOX drink while whiskey sour is a MUS drink. --Stevetek 10:53, 10 February 2008 (CST)

  • Double and triple checked. Changing this page, the whiskey sour page, and the strawberry wine page to correct this error. --Benjamander 17:48, 6 March 2008 (CST)

I fought the Baron and got his monocle, not one of those items listed on the page (Annoy-o-tron 5000, etc). Very disappointing, Wiki!! I also got 3 whiskeys and a soda as a sauceror. --Lelu 17:30, 25 February 2008 (CST)

  • Firstly, you should prolly put that complaint over here. Secondly, what did you have the annoy-o-tron set to? Thirdly, the 3 whiskys and soda are exactly what the article says you will get. --CheezyBob 17:47, 25 February 2008 (CST)
  • "[Y]ou can continue to adventure to encounter Baron Von Ratsworth. Defeating him will grant you a rather nifty item (there are three different items he can drop, depending on the current setting, if any, of The Super-Secret Canadian Mind-Control Device, detuned radio, or The Annoy-o-Tron 5000)." I think someone misread the article. The Annoy-o-Tron doesn't drop, it affects the drop. In Kingdom of Loathing, you disappoint Wiki. --Bagatelle 18:28, 25 February 2008 (CST)

October 22, 2010 Update

It changed a lot, I can say that much. It was like mining in the Mines (i.e. you start on one square, and can only go to adjacent squares) with each square like the normal. Eventually, you make it to the faucet. One of the non-combats supply the shiny ring, as Bert the bartender only gives you the swills.
