Talk:Toy mercenary
For when someone reformats this. This a reference to Battlestar Galactica, episode "Black Market" (numbers 214, or episode 14 from season 2). The episode involves a Phelan an Ex-Military Mercenary who has started an extensive black market ring organizing the murders of a number of individuals over unpaid debts for the resources he sold to them, which is carried out through garreting with piano wire.--Practitioner of Saucy Arts 02:05, 4 December 2006 (CST)
Damage dealt: 10 meat = 35 damage 10 meat = 35 damage 10 meat = 35 damage 5 meat = 30 damage 9 meat = 34 damage 6 meat = 31 damage 8 meat = 33 damage 10 meat = 35 damage 10 meat = 35 damage 8 meat = 33 damage 6 meat = 31 damage 5 meat = 30 damage 6 meat = 31 damage 7 meat = 32 damage 6 meat = 31 damage 6 = 31 9 = 34 6 = 31 10 = 35 9 = 34 5 = 30 9 = 34 (Have about another 100 uses, but haven't recorded them as they all fit to this template) It seems to be a 30 damage for 5 meat, plus upto 5 more damage at 1 meat each
Although I have not lost any meat from using it --Chineselegolas 04:54, 4 December 2006 (CST)
Seems they're taking meat now.--RPGMarker35 18:33, 4 December 2006 (CST)
It should probably be mentioned somewhere that more than one of these can be used at once. I know there was some debate about this within my clan, and I'm sure more people would like to know as well. --MrPaulie 09:45, 6 December 2006 (CST)
Reference
Well the reference I put up was simply deleted with little explanation despite a detailed reseaoning. As such I'd encourage people to look at the page history. If in a week I don't see more a consensus or a more reasonable justification for why it is "one hell of a reach" I will be putting it back up.--Practitioner of Saucy Arts 21:02, 4 December 2006 (CST)
- I deleted the reference because that's what mercenaries do. If there's more people that think it's a specific reference to that episode of that show, feel free to add it back. --sl1me 21:32, 4 December 2006 (CST)
- My reasoning is there are four seperate parts in agreement:
1. Exmilitary 2. Stealing Supplies 3. Mercenary 4. Garroting People
--Practitioner of Saucy Arts 23:18, 4 December 2006 (CST)
- While #2 and #3 are somewhat dubious to me, the rest are enough for a 'may be' I suppose, so I re-added it. --sl1me 02:35, 5 December 2006 (CST)
- In rebuttal, 1- Almost all mercenaries are soldiers for hire, making your point one and three the same thing. Secondly, it never mentions ex-military. 2- Mercenaries do what they do for money, which makes stealling supplies an easy way to cut back of costs and earn extra dough. Thirdly, garroting someone is a widely used example of merc/Asassin behavior. Besides, since when is there UNDERBRUSH in a starfleet? Using your logic I could boast for a reference to GI Joe's Firefly or any other known Mercs. It's definitely "one hell of a reach."--Galapagos James 02:50, 5 December 2006 (CST)
- I must admit, all I'm seeing in that reference is a description of a standard stereotypical movie mercenary. I can't imagine it being more of a reference than any other mercenary featured in any other show or movie. --Psynn 03:50, 5 December 2006 (CST)
- isn't this the same as last year, which pre-dates the new BG? --Evilkolbot 18:13, 5 December 2006 (CST)
Since most people seem to agree on this being a bit more of a stretch, I'll admit defeat and am going to delete it from the content page.--Practitioner of Saucy Arts 00:35, 6 December 2006 (CST)
naughty sorc use?
anyone willing/able to test if this is destroyed in the same way as the toy soldier is by the sorc or the bonerdagon? --Gregorio 00:24, 5 December 2006 (CST)
I too lost 2 Toy mercenaries against the Naughty Sorceress. I got more than one use out of each, but they did both dissappear. (sasori_uk)
New damage formula?
I've been using two of these per battle to kill mine crabs but lately I've noticed me getting blown up all the time and the mercenary doing 45 damage for 10 meat. Anyone know when this changed and if there are any other good reusable itema that can be used to kill the mime crabs? Winterbay (talk) 14:28, 17 January 2014 (UTC)
