Talk:Tome of Snowcone Summoning

If you use a Tome, do you have to have it in your inventory to use the skill? I.E. can you use the tome, sell it, and still have the skill?--Shortguy 21:55, 24 April 2007 (CDT)

  • No. Using the tome consumes the item and gives you the skill. That's why the tomes have climbed so high in price. --TechSmurf 22:03, 24 April 2007 (CDT)
    • Thank you. I realized just after I posted that the answer is on the front page, I just didn't read close enough.--Shortguy 22:07, 24 April 2007 (CDT)

Has anyone checked to see if you retain this skill when you ascend, or retain it for hardcore?

  • It's like a GMA, in that it's permanent and you don't have to do anything to keep it. --jin 23:27, 3 January 2006 (Central Standard Time)
    • Even in Hardcore? Greyhead 19:15, 4 January 2006 (Central Standard Time)
      • YES. --jin 19:33, 4 January 2006 (Central Standard Time)
      • And when you purchase it from Mr. Store while you're in hardcore, the tome goes into your inventory, not Hagnks, so it's available to you from day one, and forever and ever after. :) --NewZorkBat 03:23, 5 January 2006 (Central Standard Time)

Any Hope?

I started playing january 31st, and the tome was gone before I even knew what the Mr. Store was. IS there any hope for a miracle that these might come down in price someday?(they were steady for a while at 13.5 mill, thought i'd get one today, only to find out they're at 19.5 mill now)--Veszerin 14:17, 17 March 2006 (CST)

  • They're useful, consumable, and there is a limited number of them. No, they won't go down in price, unless there's some sort of duping bug, or they're made less useful. --Ricket 15:00, 17 March 2006 (CST)

Yeah, any consumable item from the store will inevitablly increase in price, since there's a limited number that only goes down, and they're valuable. Basic supply and demand. there may be occasional dips in price if someone who has on desperatelly needs the meat, but finding one of those is sheer luck.--Rikmach 23:11, 17 March 2006 (CST)

Is the plural of this item really in lowercase? --JRSiebz (|§|) 02:09, 30 January 2008 (CST)

Most of the old Mr. Store books haven't had their use messages and plurals updated since their names were changed, so most likely not. That's why there's a NeedsContent on the page asking about the plural and use messages. --Flargen 10:53, 30 January 2008 (CST)
I got "Unable to add 2 Tomes of Snowcone Summoning to your store -- you don't have 2 of them.".
Duhh, first edit and I forget to sign ... and I even previewed :( --XKiv 21:26, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

New use messages

I have one tome now. I can (and will) easily provide the new use message for first use ... but before that, is there any way I might help with finding the new use message for the *next* uses? The "already read one" one ... --XKiv 21:30, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

  • Very nice, I'm jealous. You would need a second tome to verify what happens when you've already had a tome. Or just use a tome on an account that's already used one. If there's someone you trust already has the skill, and can trust them to give you the book back, you can send them your tome and have them check what the message is. I'm guessing the messages are pretty much the same for librams/grimoires/tomes, but it's always good to have confirmation just in case. It's just rather expensive to do that with the snowtome. --Flargen 21:36, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
  • First use: "You carefully place the Tome on the bookshelf in your campsite.". Second use: "You've already got a copy of that Tome on your bookshelf.". --XKiv 23:17, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
