Talk:Thermos full of Knob coffee
Does anyone else see this:
thermos full of Knob chicory
This is a thermos full of a poor substitute for coffee, because -- hey, what's coffee?. Knob goblins like their chicory like they like their female volleyball players -- hot, black, and spiked.
Type: booze Selling Price: 25 Meat.
I had coffe yesterday, now I this is what I have.--Godica 15:17, 11 August 2008 (CDT)
- jick said something on the radio about the narrative inconsistency of this item. looks like he changed it. --Evilkolbot 15:30, 11 August 2008 (CDT)
Did the consumption message change? --Club (#66669) (Talk) 12:34, 12 August 2008 (CDT)
- Not yet, no. Still says coffee. --Azrane 13:04, 12 August 2008 (CDT)
Typo?
The current posting says its booze, but it uses fullness. Does the item description really say its booze? --Grimdel 14:40, 27 June 2007 (CDT)
The description does say booze and you definitely gain one drunkenness. Based on my calculatations of when I reached satiation today I *think* you do also gain one fullness... wonder if that is possible? --Y0u 06:41, 3 July 2007 (CDT)
OK, by my calculations today, it did NOT give me fullness. Which is consistent with its identification as "booze" and the fact that I don't know of any other item that would give both inebriation and fullness. It did give me 1 inebriation each time. --Y0u 20:32, 12 July 2007 (CDT)
Where?
So... who found this? Where does it drop from? --Sevault 09:26, 30 June 2007 (CDT)
-I received it from an adventure called Lunchboxing (or somethign similar) while adventuring at The Outskirts of Cobbs Knob. The adventure gave a Knob Goblin Lunch Pail (or something of similar name) that, when used, gave 2 Knob Goblin Pastys and the thermos. When I used it I took a small amount ( I believe 2 hp) of hot damage, recieved 6 adventures, one drunkeness, and a few substat. If this booze (as little as it has been tested) is giving 6 adv/drunkeness isn't it a VERY high quality booze?--Billyjoe 20:43, 1 July 2007 (CDT)
You gain 7 Adventures. You gain 5 Muscleboundness. You gain 5 Enchantedness. You gain 5 Roguishness. You lose 1 hit point. (hot damage) You gain 1 Drunkenness. --Y0u 05:43, 3 July 2007 (CDT)
Data
Right then, I got two flasks from the lunchbox to start with. 7 and 6 adventures, 5 muscle and 6 mysticality both times, the moxie is irrelevant because of a stat day. Also I lost 2 hit points, both times. Hope this helps a bit --V38 14:27, 6 July 2007 (CDT)
Reference
Liking their women hot and black has got to be a reference. I've seen that sort of phrasing for coffee preferences many times, but I couldn't tell you the original source. Anyone know? --Club (#66669) (Talk) 18:14, 13 July 2007 (CDT)
It's a reference to an old joke. "Make my coffee like I like my men: hot, black, and strong." It's most famously used in the movie Airplane (Stewardess: Would you like some cream? Old Woman: No, I like my coffee black, like my men) but it started on the seminal tv series "Good Times". To quote: Make my coffee like I like my men: hot, black, and strong. The character Willona Wood says this.
thermos full of Knob coffee
It seems the name and description has changed again.
"thermos full of Knob coffee
This is a thermos full of a strange beverage called "coffee." Apparently you make it by picking beans off of a bush and running boiling water through them. Look, I'm not making this up -- my imagination's not *that* good.
Knob Goblins like their coffee like they like their female volleyball players: black, hot, and spiked."
Also, for a while this was showing in the mall and inventory as coffee whilst the description was chicory. and was fixed and both the items listed and the description said chicory (yesterday), and then today i bought some and it is listed as coffee. --Warjunkie 19:32, 13 August 2008 (CDT)
- This page still needs to be moved back to Knob coffee by someone higher-up. It's still listed as thermos full of Knob coffee again. --Shima 11:47, 15 August 2008 (CDT)
