I'll open this up. So far I'm 0-3 on fights here, with a buffed Moxie of 297. The only one that missed looked crit-like. I've generally hit for negligible damage. I haven't seen any elemental affinity yet while using a rainbow crossbow. I am consistently landing hits--just the fish are, too. Qaianna 05:19, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Path Restrictions

So far Boozetafarians and Oxygenarians are out of luck because they cannot get the Fishy effect so they end up losing the extra adventure each time. Hopefully they will add a booze and a spleen item that will give the Fishy effect. --Annelise 04:23, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

  • Really, really doubtful. You need the SCUBA gear to get into the zones, which you get from the NS quest, after which dietary restrictions are limited. So the only time you're actually unable to explore as a Boozer/Oxy is the small window between the start and end of the NS quest. --TechSmurf 04:47, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

Doesn't need the Bathysphere!

One of my clannies pointed out that the barrrnacle doesn't need the bathy sphere!--Kittenthateatbabies 05:20, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Neither does the Emo Squid. I think those are the only two, but I could certainly see the Starfish also not needing it as well, though admittedly I didn't check. --InvalidUser 05:26, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
I checked the snail... but he doesn't seem to do anything. I'm guessing that means he can't function down there. But don't people put snails in their fish tanks?--Kittenthateatbabies 05:29, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
Oops, looks like I was wrong, my snail is just low level. He does appear to function without the bathy sphere.--Kittenthateatbabies 05:35, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
Snail? Which familiar is that? I don't remember any snail familiars... --Jimfromtx 03:50, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
I think he means the barrrnacle. It kinda looks like a snail.-Salculd 06:49, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
I tried the starfish, and it needs the bathy sphere.--Bjorn Freeh 05:33, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
Haven't tried any of my familiars, but we should make a list of possible and already tested familiars which don't need the bathysphere--Beliar Lightbearer 09:10, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
Tested some more and added to the list. —Yendor 18:19, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

  • I'm not going to move it but should the blackbird be removed from the list since for most people it will be unable to be used by the time they can get underwater. (As to get the gear you need the NS quest.)--Chunky_boo 23:44, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Actually, it's interesting. All the high-level content (e.g., after NS), most of the pictures are animated. El Vibrato, now the Sea. Hobopolis is a clan thing, but the two individual ones are. --Eniteris 12:47, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

  • just checked the last three and updated the blackbird too. --Evilkolbot 15:34, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

Future images

This post, thanks to gregmasta. There will be The Briny Deepers and The Briny Deepests. --blazingthunder 20:01, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

Yes that was obvious. I'd hold off on creating new pages for the time being...--Toffile 03:53, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

Shouldn't the briniest deepests have 4 fish in the image seeing as the prior ones have 2 and 3 fish? Sakukoivu

After combat messages

where should we put them?--Brion thenotgiant 23:45, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

  • Good question, I just received this after fighting a ganger in The Briniest Deepests: "You hear strains of lovely music in the distance." It appears after the stats but before the "Being underwater makes it hard to move -- it's really slowing you down!" message. The only other mention of that message I've found is for the Strung-Up Quartet - are they related? --Dossy 01:09, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
  • Yes, they're related... that message just shows what song your quartet is playing at the moment.--MattG987 02:13, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

Boot quest now completeable?

December '04 Major Update claims to have made some changes to the existing sea zones. Also, the "Pro Tip:" on the Old Man is gone. Obvious conclusion is that it's now possible to find the old man's boot. --Jabbykins 08:53, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

Underwater Familiars

Maybe a link to the Water-breathing Familiars page (, should go here? Just a suggestion. --Ravenous Muffin 00:51, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

Underwater objectives?

Hey folks, I am wondering what should be my ultimate goals when adventuring underwater. Is there a page that sums up the objectives, in the spirit of Worm Wood Done Quickly or Spookyraven Manor Quest?

I have Das Boot and I am aware that there is a skill for each class, but I haven't visited the sea for a while and I'm not clear what new stuff like the skate park is good for. --Kazim 19:12, 12 November 2009 (UTC)

The Sea still isn't fully implemented yet, so we don't know what the finale will be. However, the primary quest line seems to revolve around the Sea Monkees: Right now you can find everyone up to Grandma, who is currently sleeping. There's two windows left, which will probably be for Ma and Pa, but I suppose the thing to work to right now is finding Grandma. The summary page for all this is Sea Monkees Quest. --Lordebon 22:25, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
