Talk:The Broodling Grounds
Trick looks to be: Don't insta-kill pups, so they squeal and bring out mothers. Epic-club mothers for undamaged items.--ArgghFW 22:32, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
I'm getting the mothers and am using the Hammer of Smiting, but I'm still damaging items. Any thoughts what I'm doing wrong?--Ithanox 23:19, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
- Make sure you don't have any Saucespheres running, and pick a familiar that doesn't attack (so you'll have to take off your Seal Larva for the moment). You can't do ANY damage other than club-related attacks (though TS and LTS are okay). - The Wrassedragon 09:30, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
If you want to keep things under control, let one pup cry out (Spices help there, Clobber might work too), then instakill the rest. I'd propose treating it as a 'Fury' stat - every pup that cries out increases fury, Mother strength is determined by Fury and they only show up if Fury's non-zero. It goes down every time a Mother gets vengeance on you. Four-digit damage is not fun, I might add. --Gullwhacker 16:52, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
Brooding or Broodling???
Ummm... when i look at where to adventure on the Secret Tropical Island Volcano Lair map it definitely says The Broodling Grounds (1) and NOT The Brooding Grounds (1)...
there is an L in there.
This I'm assuming is a spelling mistake given when you want to click Last Adventure it lists it as The Brooding Grounds, no L --Remnant 06:00, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
Reported it as a typo on the forums, and it's been fixed. The zone, rather than the image, so it's "broodling". Yay for Star Wars references? Nooooooooo! --ArgghFW 10:38, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
Actually two different zones?
So here's an interesting observation I made using the new "Map the monsters" ability that came with October's IOTM. When you use the ability early on, the only choice is 'Helseal pup', 'Mother Hellseal' is not an option. When you cause the Hellseal pups to cry out enough times the option is instead replaced entirely with 'Mother hellseal' this coincides with when the 'Hellseal pups' stop showing up, but at no point to both options become available. The question mark is there because I don't know for certain how the in-game logic works exactly.--Tombot (talk) 02:26, 22 October 2020 (UTC)
- "Map the monsters" rolls a rejection chance before deciding what monsters to show you, and if a monster is rejected it's not shown. I assume that's what happened: if you get to a point where you'd expect 50/50 mothers and pups, then over time each cast should give you one option: a 50% chance of either a mother or a pup.--Ryo_Sangnoir (talk) 11:57, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
