So, do we know if TLAPD III has brought anything to the Kingdom? I have spent some time at the cove and not found any binarrrca :( --CheezyBob 03:45, 19 September 2007 (CDT)

"Announcements: September 19: Happy Talk Like a Pirate Day! The residents of the Obligatory Pirates' Cove have some special goodies today. They'll have 'em tomorrow, too, since I forgot to roll this out until so late. It wasn't my fault, though -- it was the rum's fault." - JohnDoe244 15:40, 19 September 2007 (CDT)

I've got binarrrca. I was wearing an eyepatch, so maybe you have to have some pirate accoutrements? --Cobwebs 20:14, 19 September 2007 (CDT)

  • It requires nothing more than adventuring in The Obligatory Pirate's Cove and getting the item drop. On TLaPD III, it didn't drop before the update took effect (around 18:00-20:00 GMT, 10:00-12:00 server time).--Mis2027 21:01, 19 September 2007 (CDT)
  • Arr, stupid can of Binarrrca. --Xclockwatcher 13:57, 20 September 2007 (CDT)

Got my can of Binarrrca in outside the plains from a Peripatetic pirate. I was not wearing anything piratey at all. It was my 3rd adventure of the day. Just got another from an Ambulatory pirate too. --Jamfan14 04:39, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

I'm gonna go out on a limb here, and suggest this works like the Feast of Borris or El Dia de Los Muertos Borrachos.--Blood panther 05:27, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

So far as I've tried, none of the TLaPD pirates seem to respond to The Big Book of Pirate Insults, which is to say that they each respond like any other non-pirate monster. --Itsatrap 07:06, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

Bit of mechanics-related trivia: I fought a peripatetic pirate while adventuring in the Superrrfluous Fountain just now. I guess he saw the body of water and was so desperate to relive his looting days that he jumped in. I don't think a Marco Polo game is the best place to find treasure, though.--Nahtmmm 02:49, 20 September 2008 (UTC)

I've spent around 150 adventures in adventure.php areas on , and I've yet to encounter any wandering pirates. Unless wearing the swashbuckling getup or having a rock lobster equipped prevents wandering pirates, or wandering pirates don't wander into the dungeons of doom, haiku dungeon(>40adv), haunted ballroom, or icy peak(>80 adv), I'm not sure they're showing up at all for some people. --Noskilz 19:27, 19 September 2009 (UTC)

  • they showed up last year, heard no reports this. it is con, though. --Evilkolbot 19:49, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, unfortunately I think the semi-recent updates to automatic holiday shenanigans referred to only regular game-calendar holidays, not real-world—calendar ones. I'd expect the d'yarr one day soon, unless it goes long enough they just forget. - Msanychta (talk|contribs) 02:45, 20 September 2009 (UTC)

im sad =( no tlapd this year--Darkmagicpi 22:19, 20 September 2009 (UTC)

Looks like there may be none this year (2010) as well... a curse on ye drunken Con festivities; ye be keelhauled fer this when ye sober up enough to be understandin' a-what we be punishin' ye fer. --Terion 05:36, 19 September 2010 (UTC)

  • Can we at least change the wording to express some skepticism, it hasn't happened in 2 years now.--Toffile 01:43, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
