# Talk:Sugar plum

Used two individually. Each drained 7 MP and granted one of each substat. Then multi-used seven. Lost 49 MP (as expected) but got 8 Muscleboundness and 13 Wizardliness, for a total of 21 substats, just not distributed evenly. Note I'm playing a Disco Bandit, and thus Moxie is my highest stat by a wide margin, so it may be distributing to balance out weaker stats. --Phantomreader42 06:27, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

- Also, just remembered the above was with Antiphon active, which shouldn't be relevant as it isn't a battle.--Phantomreader42 06:29, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

I can't help but wonder whether the level of the SFF at the time the plum was dropped and/or its level when you consume the plum has any effect on the MP loss and substat gain.--Leicontis 16:05, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

- In that regard, I got my first plum when the SFF was maybe 13 pounds buffed, and draining 7MP per battle. Since then it's grown and draining 11 MP, but all the plums I've used so far have required 7, and given 3 substats each. --Phantomreader42 05:38, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
- Fairy is now 22 pounds, have eaten 3 plums today, each drained 11 MP and gave 4 substats. --Phantomreader42 00:45, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
- Multi-used 5, lost 55 MP, gained 20 substats. So it seems 7 MP gives 3 substats, 11 gives 4, not sure how the amount drained is determined exactly. --Phantomreader42 00:48, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
- It appears that the plums give the stat gain and MP loss you would have received if you had the MP at the time. I used several which drained 11 MP for 4 stats each, then six at once which drained 90 MP total, which would be 2 @ 11 MP and 4 @ 17 MP. —Yendor 13:56, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

If you try to multi-use more than you have MP for:
You only have enough energy to eat 15 plums. You pop them in your mouth and chew them up. It's a tremendous amount of effort, but it's worth it.
You lose 165 Muscularity Points.
You gain 30 Muscleboundness.
You gain 18 Magicalness.
You gain 12 Sarcasm.
Also, that's for 15 plums. ДҖ--Finalheaven63^{talk} 02:24, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

- Sorry I took a while to post my tests. While the result isn't completely conclusive, it seems likely.

- Farm 3 sugar plums at 25 pounds. Debuff to 1 pound and eat them. 5 stats each. As expected per volleyball at time of farming.
- Farm 3 sugar plums at 1 pound. Buff to 25 pound and eat them. 1 stat each. Same as above.
- Buff to 25 pounds, farm 2 plums. Debuff to 1 pound, farm 1 plum. Receive 3/4/4 stats. Note I never receive either 5 or 1 stats, as expected by a first-in/first-out system.
- Debuff to 1 pound. Farm 3 plums. Eat 2, receiving 1/1 stats. Again, as expected. Still have 1 plum farmed at 1 pound remaining.
- Buff to 25 pounds, farm a plum. Eat both plums, receive 3/3 stats. Note that the remaining plum from the above test would have given 1 stat, but this result was changed due to my obtaining a plum at 25 pounds.
- Farm 10 plums at 1 pound. Farm 1 plum at 25 pounds. Eat all plums, and receive 1 stat first 7 times followed by 2 stats next 4 times.

- That's my testing so far. This shows that at 25 pounds, plums give 5 stats. At 1 pound, plums give 1 stat. However if you combine plums from 25 pounds and 1 pound, the plums give an average output. Note that in my final test where 11 plums were eaten, I expected to get 1 stat 10 times and 5 stats once for a total of 15 stats. Instead I received 1 stat 7 times followed by 2 stats 4 times, for a total of 15 stats. So the total amount of stats is what we would expect, but each individual plum gives a fraction of the expected stats. If we calculate the remaining expected stats, it seems that you receive floor(RemainingExpectedStats/Plums) stats per turn.-QuantumNightmare 04:05, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

Im curious; if you use plums when you dont have MP, does it decrease the amount of stats in the pool when it removes the plum?--Needmoney90 19:48, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

- Just tried, and yes: trying to use a plum without the MP causes you to lose that plum and the stats it would have given you. So, no concentrating your plums. Had two plums drop from a 22 lb fairy (4.69 substat). Used one with insufficient MP, no MP was drained, plum was thrown out, no stat gain. Then buffed up to 63 MP (in case it would give 10 substats, which would drain 59 MP); eating my single remaining plum cost me 17 MP and gave me 5 substats. So make sure you've got enough MP. --Terion 07:30, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
