Starch 3 or Jarlsuary 8? --Shuddertrix (#387951) 11:06, 24 Sep 2005 (MDT)

Starch 3. --Doppelheathen 18:41, 24 Sep 2005 (MDT)

The original post about Jick moving the date can be found at Drink Drink Drink! forum post

Yeah, SSPD was totally not supposed to happen today. This is exactly 1 KOL year after the real-life St. Patrick's Day, and I hadn't properly rolled this into the KOL calendar in the intervening months. It'll happen in the third month of the KOL calendar, starting next year.

St. Sneaky Pete's Day III

Clovers were put into the Hermit once Jick returned to fix the errors in the SSPD code. It seems that it is planned for clovers to always be available in the Hermitage on SSP Days.

Green beers appeared in the Microbrewery. This is enough of a coincidence, I suspect it was to be standard for SSPD.

  • Update* According to Jick in his 10/06 radio show, he has hardcoded green beer to show up in the Microbrewery for the holiday.

Note to Pastamancer5: The drunkeness level required to get the adventures is 26, not 30, and not 10 + your normal drunkeness limit. I have 26 drunkeness and am getting SSPD stupors Right Now. 10 + your normal drunkeness limit is only the cap on how drunk you can get via green beer. As for those without Liver, see Light Wolfs post in this thread http://forums.kingdomofloathing.com/viewtopic.php?t=42902&start=60 in which he left his teetotaler path to try to participate. He got up to 25 drunkeness using ! potions, yet still couldn't get the adventures.

In other words, please check your info before you contradict someone else's contributions. Thank you.

St. Sneaky Pete's Day V

From the powers of deduction, this is going to be a traffic cone with so-so heat resistance, and the obvious +3 Moxie bonus. As for colours, I'm guessing it'll be blue.

Let's just wait and see. --Rai 04:43, 17 March 2006 (CST)

  • ... aaand you were right. Now I'm really intrigued about what happens next time :) --NewZorkBat 02:34, 18 March 2006 (CST)

A purple traffic cone, of course!--Rikmach 03:48, 18 March 2006 (CST)

Purple would make sense. Of course, there's also black, white, brown... however, we've run out of elements to have resistance against, so it's going to be a huge suprise. --Rai 12:12, 20 March 2006 (CST)

  • Well, that or they'll start repeating again. --Rai 14:19, 25 March 2006 (CST)

Getting Flashed

Just realized all this was already on the Sneaky Pete's Stupor page. Sorry. --DancesWithScissors 00:59, 25 October 2006 (CDT)

SSPD XI

Since

  • SSPD XI happened by accident and
  • was canceled halfway through, and
  • actually was a consequence of SSPD X, and
  • had no individual new item drop,

it should rather be named SSPD X 1/2. ;) --NewZorkBat 12:36, 3 April 2007 (CDT)

I agree. Well, in just about every way it was St. Sneaky Pete's Day X (same item, etc...) Perhaps the SSPD X line should just be modified to say: St. Sneaky Pete's Day X: March 17-18, April 3, 2007 (Carlvember 2-3, Boozember 3)... but I dunno. I definitely don't think that it qualifies as it's own day, especially since it was an accident. It doesn't help that all the pages already incorporate the new number. <_< --TheDotGamer 12:48, 3 April 2007 (CDT)

  • I'm happy to do the work to make the April 3rd version tie in with X. --Itsatrap 13:25, 3 April 2007 (CDT)
    • So, I went and changed things accordingly. I suppose if I were feeling cheeky, I'd change it to X.V or something. --Itsatrap 13:43, 3 April 2007 (CDT)
      • Oh, so one more thing: SSPD was canceled on April 2 (CDT), but KoL dates (and therefore dates in the wiki) are tied to rollover, which would make it officially April 3 (uh... LDT)? --Itsatrap 17:36, 3 April 2007 (CDT)

SSPD XI V2.0

Well, It's the Official SSPD XI. I've been adventuring, and it seems that there is a new shirt. I have not seen it on the Wiki. I do have Torso Awaregness; and I have screenshots, text ect. Does that "48-hour rule" apply here? I don't know much about creating pages anyway, but I thought I'd post. There are also quite a few new adventures, in honor of Cinco De Mayo, I'd guess. There is also another item. --Zelandoni 23:19, 4 May 2007 (CDT)

  • The 48-hour rule does not apply here. It only applies on the forums and chat.--DoctorWorm 15:00, 5 May 2007 (CDT)

SSPD XII

  • I've burned over 100 turns and have only seen the flashing button/yellow glowsticks. There were reports that Cinco De Mayo items were dropping, but apparently this was a bug and has been fixed? --Grimdel 03:29, 9 August 2007 (CDT)
  • They were definitely dropping earlier -- I got the tin star, and then the outrageous sombrero. I didn't participate in SSPD XI, and I'm not sure if that would have mattered. I was seeing the South of the Border stupors at least 2-3 hours after rollover. --alacrity 05:04, 9 August 2007 (CDT)
    • I saw all of the Cinco De Mayo adventures during the first few hours. Checking back this afternoon, it looks like they have been replaced with standard SSPD adventures and the associated button/glowstick drops. --Itsatrap 21:17, 9 August 2007 (CDT)
  • I got a humerous t-shirt along with a tin star. I think the bug got fixed before I could get the sombrero.--Zolar the czakl 00:43, 12 August 2007 (CDT)

Strings of beads

  • Argus claims that strings of beads went back to dropping for female characters later in the day. can anyone else confirm or deny this? i played on and off from RO+9 to RO+15 and didn't get any. --Evilkolbot 06:30, 10 August 2007 (CDT)

SSPD XIII

SSPD XIV

  • I haven't seen any bead drops for either sex yet today. 2 male charaters and 1 female 60-90 SSPDS adventures each. Time = til just before RO+2. --Watermoon 23:01, Feb 16 2008 (PST)

Lack of bead drops reported by about half a dozen clannies, and none for me (female) today. Also no meat loss adventures. --StorellaDeville 06:17, 17 February 2008 (CST)

SSPD XV

  • the only item I've gotten so far is a tattered paper crown--KowboyTrav 23:35, 16 March 2008 (CDT)

I only had 36 adventures to use, THOUGHT I got no item at all. I actually got the crown and didn't notice because it wasn't reported in KoLmafia's Session Results. Yay! A crown! -hic- A friend reports using 100 adventures, and no SSPD items. The "What's Up, Chuck?" adventure is missing its first letter, so I reported it as a bug. It seems any -5HP adventures are gone, and I got plenty of -10HP. No beads. Again. --StorellaDeville 04:17, 17 March 2008 (CDT)

Wearing the crown you get a vanilla-frosted king cake and lose the crown. Foamy

Does anyone know if wearing the Pink plastic baby do anything in the Sneaky Pete stupor?--TehChozenOne 05:08, 17 March 2008 (CDT)

SSPD XVI

  • Tattered paper crowns again. This time the item's a bit different though. Banana-frosted king cake. I can't test out what the reward is though, ate myself full earlier ><; --Garlyle 23:47, 22 May 2008 (CDT)
Brown plastic baby, which for all intents and purposes seems to be exactly the same as the pink plastic baby. Also, the consume message for the cake says you eat the vanilla-frosted king cake, when the item name is banana-frosted king cake. (Sorry for no exact quote, I didn't think to save it.) --Irregular 01:03, 23 May 2008 (CDT)

Banana Again?

I was under the impression that each sneaky pete's day there'd be a different cake and baby. Hrm. --Devion 07:02, 27 August 2008 (CDT)

  • every 96 days this catches tptb by surprise. eventually someone will wake up, notice, then wake jick and he'll update it to have new items. be patient. --Evilkolbot 07:12, 27 August 2008 (CDT)
  • Mr. Skullhead posted in the forums that this did, indeed, catch tptb by surprise. They will not be adding new content today, although it is still unknown as to whether or not they'll run another sspd tomorrow or just have new content next time the holiday rolls around. Here's a link to Mr. Skullhead's post. --Oculus 11:45, 27 August 2008 (CDT)

SSPD XVIII

Just got a blueberry frosted kingcake (wearing the crown, of course), but can't eat it as I'm Booze. -JuiceDoctor 05:00, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

  • Ok, very curious or just very random. I've now gotten 4 5 6 blueberry king cakes in a row, with no other types received. Just for the record, Disco Bandit, level 18, Booze, Wombat. -JuiceDoctor 05:26, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
    • You can't receive the former types without being there.--Toffile 05:35, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

St. stands for Street

Quote directly from "The Calendar of Loathing":
"This holiday is for the remembrance of Sneaky Pete the Redundantly Sneaky, one of the three archetypal elders who shaped the Kingdom into what it is today. (Whether or not we should thank them for it is still up for grabs.) On this day everyone gathers in bars to swap stories about the sneaky underhanded tricks they've pulled on people, while drinking copious amounts of green beer. The parties are generally quite memorable, or at least they would be, if anyone were able to remember them. The green beer's pretty nasty, but it's expeditious, and it's said that Sneaky Pete himself invented the recipe. Which, all things considered, might have been his final, enduring prank. Oh, and few people know this, but Sneaky Pete's not a saint - the "St." in the holiday name stands for "Street."
I'm going to put it back in now. On a tangent, maybe we should have the paragraphs as lised in "The Calendar of Loathing" as entries on each individual holiday page?--Urutsini 06:04, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

  • that's a joke. stop with the reverts. --Evilkolbot 08:32, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
    • That text is probably worth putting in the article, though. I believe some of the holidays have copies of the official holiday descriptions in them, or at least a link to it where possible. Or both. Festival of Jarlsberg for example. --Flargen 08:39, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
    • It may be a joke, but if it's in the official holiday description, then it definitely merits inclusion --DJ RBK 11:59, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
      • in the hundreds of times that sspd has been mentioned on the radio, none of the asymmetric bods has ever referred to it a street sneaky pete. it's just a joke in non-game text. and why isn't the text from the calendar included in the holiday pages anyway? not canon enough? i would agree that if this gets included it gets treated the same as in-game text. it should be added exactly as written and clearly marked for what it is. a note's just confusing. --Evilkolbot 12:17, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
    • Erm, yeah it's a joke. He's not a real Saint either - the entire thing is a joke. The St stands for what ever TPTB says it stands for and they say it stands for "Street". Or are we going to delete all KoL joke content from the wiki now?--Chalky 12:08, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
      • calendar's not canon. anyway, statements of fact like this should be included as they are written and sourced clearly. adding it as a note was always wrong. --Evilkolbot 12:17, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
        • I've put a citation in, perhaps it needs it's own section - also, I have the feeling the "calendar of loathing" link might be incorrect in context.--Chalky 12:53, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
          • The main problem here is that the Calendar of Loathing is an imperfect source. Urutsini's argument, is that the Calendar of Loathing content is a reprinting of the actual in-game official holiday description, (the one that is linked under the main map on the actual holiday.) I don't think anyone would argue that the official description would be unquestionably acceptable. The problem is, there is no way online to access those descriptions on non-holidays. The only way to get that information would be to wait abut three months or so, when SSPD comes around again, and capture the description on that day.--DJ RBK 13:27, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
    • Of course it's a joke the biggest part of the joke is that it is only explained on the Real life calendar. This means that those players who actually by the calender are the only ones likely to be in on the joke. If there is any reason for not including it on the wiki it is to protect the benefit from buying a calendar.--Alphie 12:24, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
  • Discussion is up on the KoL forums here Does the "St." in "St. Sneaky Pete's Day" stand for "Street"?--Alphie 12:24, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
  • Well, when I revereted last night, it was to maintain the status quo while discussing. I thought I had noted that here, but I guess my edit didn't take or something. I'm pretty ambivalent about it, but since some people want it, I guess I won't care. I've moved it to the lead, as it does not actually fit in the Notes section.--Toffile 15:33, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

er, no it doesn't

  • the note as it stands is just retarded. we don't put a note to say that extra in-game text exists, we put the text in. either there's no mention of the calendar text here (although you could put a link in to it elsewhere,) or we include all of it. --Evilkolbot 16:46, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

Street confirmed on 15/12/08 radio show

Q: Does the back page on the calendar of loathing canon?
S: Yes it does mean Street.
J: The calendar is canon. But the common parlance is "Saint Sneaky Pete's Day"

Nemesis assasins

Adventuring with a SSPD stupor you may encounter an assasin from the 'me and my nemesis' quest. Aenye Deithven 30 June 2010

Those assassins can always be encountered during drunken adventures, not just today. --TimRem 15:57, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
and they'll probably kick your arse, too. they did mine. --Evilkolbot 21:01, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

SSPD Tattoo

Since the new tattoo seems to be incremental like the Hobo Tattoo, should it have its own page (St. Sneaky Pete's Day Tattoo?) like Hobo Tattoo? That way all iterations do not have to be shown on St. Sneaky Pete's Day, A Wicked Buzz, and Tattoo. We'd just show the currently most complete version and link to its page. As of right now, the tattoo is reexplained on multiple pages instead of just one, it might simplify wording on other pages to just talk about receiving the lasted upgrade/iteration of the tattoo. Or is it too soon to call? As there have been only two, though it seems there will be at least 3 more. --JRSiebz (|§|) 04:38, 18 March 2011 (UTC)

  • Yeah, I think that is a good idea.--Icon315♕ (|) 04:43, 18 March 2011 (UTC)
    • Started.--Erich 18:28, 18 March 2011 (UTC)

Got the Tattoo adventure again this SSPD. --Avandor 04:32, 14 April 2011 (UTC)

Bees Hate You does not allow consumption of green beer. Should have seen that one coming. I know there are other ways to get drunkness, but I am in Hardcore and many things have b in them. No upgraded tattoo for me unless I drop the path... --Ivazler 10:04, 19 July 2011 (CEST)

Did anyone actually get an upgraded tattoo this time? I had sspdfipp3 before Tuesday's stupor and buzzing, and that version hasn't changed yet --Noskilz 05:54, 20 July 2011 (CEST)

SSPD XXXIV

Some people did not get any special tattoo this time. Some did. Ones that did lacked a full SSPD tattoo -- might that be a last chance for people who missed a SSPD day before? --Muczachan 14:51, 27 January 2012 (CET)

  • Anyone who got the first tattoo will be able to finish the tattoo, even when new SSPD content rolls. --Erich 19:34, 27 January 2012 (CET)
    • which is a big FU to those of us who've dropped paths every ninety-six days to keep complete. oh well. --Evilkolbot 22:16, 27 January 2012 (CET)

SIX clovers from the Hermit today

Just confirmed on GreatKate (#1630297) that this can happen under the following conditions: You are not in Ronin/Hardcore; It is currently St. Sneaky Pete's Day; and you have used a hermit script. --Wrldwzrd89 11:38, 2 May 2012 (CEST)

No more new items?

According to people on the forums there wont be new items anymore, if this is true its should be mentioned some place..... --Ganomex 06:52, 6 August 2012 (CEST)

Avatar of Jarlsberg

Does anything unusual happen when an Avatar of Jarlsberg stumbles around in a St. Sneaky Pete's Day Stupor, 20 adventures suggests not. Not unexpected, but I was curious and felt like checking. --Noskilz (talk) 22:48, 17 March 2013 (UTC)

KOLHS

Does anything unusual happen when a KOLHS student gets all liquored up and stumbles around in a St. Sneaky Pete's Day Stupor? No - but as long as you have bang potions you can participate if you need to. --Noskilz (talk) 21:35, 25 August 2013 (UTC)

AoSP

  • so, SSPD in AoSP. anything of interest? perhaps on paddy's night in two weeks. --Evilkolbot (talk) 13:02, 5 March 2014 (UTC)
