Talk:Spooky Pirate Skeleton

Doesn't the Spooky Pirate Skeleton do more than just deal damage? Does the "looks your opponent in the eye, and lets loose a fierce "Arrrr." Your opponent shudders..." reduce monster level or something? --Gymnosophist 21:04, 22 Oct 2005 (MDT)

  • I would suppose so. The best way to check would be to take one against the Sorceress, and see if she heals her stats. --Zaku 21:32, 22 Oct 2005 (MDT)
Does this help? I'd used a wussiness potion, she'd done the shimmer thing once, and I hadn't used it again. But after my skeleton did the shudder thing, she shimmered again: --Starwed 01:52, 23 November 2005 (Central Standard Time)
"Roger looks your opponent in the eye, and lets loose a fierce "Arrrr." Your opponent shudders...
The Sorceress pauses for a moment, mutters some words under her breath, and straightens out her dress. Her skin seems to shimmer for a moment."

For the damage, my 1 pound pirate skeleton hits 6 damage when attacking, Im going to try to find how it's calcutalted... --Slith Warlord 08:51, 21 December 2006 (CST)

Spent 40-ish turns at the Knob Treasury with a 25lb skeleton today. The damage I observed ranged from 14 to 27 (spooky damage). I guess the formula is something like (weight/2) to (weight+2). Sadly I didn't record the attack/delevel frequency. --StZvlkx 09:43, 13 June 2007 (CDT)

Delevelling Data

Tested with a Turtle Tamer in a Birthday Suit and unarmed against monsters in the Oasis. Combat was structured as follows:

  • Hit once and record the damage
  • If the SPS attacked or missed, use the Turtle Totem
  • If the SPS went Arrrr!, hit again and record the damage

Tested at levels 11, 12, 13, and 24. For the jump, I ran the SPS through the Arena to get the Blundarrrbus (which is oddly expensive in the mall) and then added several Cocoabos. Empathy and Amphibian Sympathy were active during the entire test.

Not surprising that this ends up being similar to the GPOAS and MAS. Tested in the Hole in the Sky adjusting for elemental damage.

Pirates and Chefstaves

I removed the note about jiggling Chefstaves preventing familiars from acting; I tried it twice and got a delevel once and an attack once. (Hey, does that mean I should change it to "jiggling a Chefstaff causes the familiar to act 100% of the time"?) --Johnny Treehugger 15:53, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
