Has anyone had their spice ghost drop spices after any summoning other than the first? I haven't. --Drab Emordnilap 08:42, 13 April 2008 (CDT)

I got a spice drop only on combat #1 of day 1, and another on combat #1 of day 2. --Prestige 10:08, 13 April 2008 (CDT)
3 days out of 3 now. --Starwed 10:09, 14 April 2008 (CDT)

Today it dropped spices on the first, AND eighth, summonings. I was pretty surprised. This was my second day using it; on the first day, it only dropped spices on the first summoning, like everyone else.--Rutherfoo 22:08, 14 April 2008 (CDT)

It happened again today, the same as before. Dropped spices on the first and eighth summoning. Has anyone else had this happen?--Rutherfoo 21:38, 18 April 2008 (CDT)
Today I got spices on turns 1, 3?, and 8. (It's possible I lost count and it was actually the fourth turn I got spices, but the 8 is definite, since I got the brain tired message.) --Starwed 06:32, 19 April 2008 (CDT)
Today I got it on the first and seventh. I wouldn't be surprised if the chance of getting more than one spice drop per day increases with the spice ghost's level.--Rutherfoo 21:41, 19 April 2008 (CDT)
Today, only on the first turn. --Starwed 09:30, 20 April 2008 (CDT)
Turns 1/8 today. --Starwed 19:36, 23 April 2008 (CDT)
Today it dropped spices 4 times. Definitely on the first and second combats, and then I think on the 3rd and 5th. I would have recorded it a little more accurately, but I was rushing since it was almost rollover. It was definitely more than it has ever dropped for me. I really think this must have to do with its level.--Rutherfoo 22:44, 23 April 2008 (CDT)
Turns 1/5. On the tenth turn it leveled to, I believe, level 7. Should be able to confirm its level in two days of spading. --Starwed 21:29, 25 April 2008 (CDT)
Turns 1/3/6 today. No levels gained. --Starwed 14:28, 2 May 2008 (CDT)
Yeah mine seems to drop two, usually on the first two summonings, almost every single day now. Occasionally I get more than two, and rarely, I get only one.--Rutherfoo 21:37, 2 May 2008 (CDT)
That's interesting. To me it implies a mechanic a bit like the salve. The first spice is automatic, there's a lower chance each turn of the second one, an even lower chance of the third one, and so on. Presumably the chances increase as the ghost levels. That might explain why you're getting the second spice on turn 2 now. --Starwed 22:36, 2 May 2008 (CDT)
Turns 1/3 today, leveling on summon #9. That makes it level 10 now, by my calculations. (19 turns between leveling.) --Starwed 23:12, 2 May 2008 (CDT)
Turns 1/2, no levels. --Starwed 20:36, 4 May 2008 (CDT)

Seems to always be two matching pairs of consonants, with two different random vowels in them, in a pattern like this: (C1)(V1)(C2)(C1)(V2)(C2)--Rutherfoo 15:23, 13 April 2008 (CDT) Oops, I guess sometimes there's a third pair of consonants on either side of the vowels, too.--Rutherfoo 15:25, 13 April 2008 (CDT)

Mine is called 'NuxNax' --Unnatural20 00:54, 15 April 2008 (CDT)

Awww... Mine is Pexpux. He's so cyooot.--Stevenskistg 13:28, 15 April 2008 (CDT)

It seems to delevel, at least with one of its attacks, going by the messages of the clockwork detective skull. — SvdB 05:46, 14 April 2008 (CDT)

I'm getting an additional message upon summoning it, occurring after the normal message:
Puckpack shakes some of the spice into your opponent's eyes as he gets accustomed to his new body.
Presumably it's because the ghost is higher level? --Starwed 01:03, 15 April 2008 (CDT)
Well, I tested it out a little, and at least one (and I would assume all) of its attacks delevels. --Prestige 02:40, 15 April 2008 (CDT)

Doing some investigation at the warren. The first step was to deal with the opening delevel. A level 10 ghost deleveled bunny defense by 5 all 9 times I was able to test. Once I fumbled, and it engulfed the bunny, for a combined delevel of -10 ML. (So presumably the engulf was -1.) --Starwed 20:32, 4 May 2008 (CDT)

  • How did you test this deleveling? Be aware that +1ML doesn't give +1defence.--QuantumNightmare 22:24, 4 May 2008 (CDT)
  • True, I guess all the observed minuses are actually only to defense. So does reducing a monster's ML in combat by -10 ML reduce the defense only by 9, or by 10? --Starwed 00:49, 5 May 2008 (CDT)
    • Answering my own question, disco-poking a bunny will increase your barehanded damage by exactly 1 for each poke. (Up to and beyond -10 ML.) So that suggests that, in combat, each -1 ML lowers defense by exactly 1. I suppose there could be a different effect if you applied -10 ML all at once? --Starwed 21:08, 5 May 2008 (CDT)
  • Shouldn't make a difference. Just be aware that adding +10ML normally boosts defence my 9, for use in calculating the initial monster defence. So, what was the exact test for deleveling with a 10 pound ghost?--QuantumNightmare 21:19, 5 May 2008 (CDT)
    • Right, I knew how defense scaled with +ML effects. But to test how defense was lowered, I simply checked how much damage I normally did, and compared to that. The specific defense value shouldn't make a difference. (For the record, the above data was run with +8 ML.) --Starwed 22:09, 5 May 2008 (CDT)

Hey, where'd he go?

On the third day I should have had my Spice Ghost, he didn't appear in my skill list. What's up with that? Did anyone else have this problem? --Unnatural20 00:56, 17 April 2008 (CDT)

Cancel that. I just failed to get the jump. --Unnatural20 01:03, 17 April 2008 (CDT)

Mine seems to be gone for real. I checked, and I did got the jump, 3 times in a row today, and the Ghost's button isn't there. I haven't even summoned him today... anyone else with that problem? --Matsui 08:58, 18 April 2008 (CDT)

My ghost disappears (sic) some days, no idea why. He was absent a day or two earlier this week, showed up yesterday, is gone again today. I can get the jump just fine. Could it be a bug connected with his being my second spice ghost this ascension? I'm level 12. Edit: I think the problem is that he will not show up if I have Auto-attack enabled. He showed up tonight only after I disabled it.--k4f 00:59, 24 October 2008 (UTC)

Second spices before level 10: 5/17 (29%)
Third spices after at level 10: 14/19 (74%)

My current theory is that between levels 1-9, it has a %3..ish chance of dropping spices. After that, well, I need a few more days of testing. --TechSmurf 06:23, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

  • Okay, level 10 ability seems to guarantee another spice drop on the second summon, as well as a third some time during the rest of the summons. --TechSmurf 03:25, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
    • Three spice days: 8/12. Seems to be a 2/3 chance of a third spice drop-- and I'm going to theorize that there's a 1/3 chance of a second spice drop under 10 pounds. I may just suck it up and summon a new spice ghost. --TechSmurf 03:06, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
      • Okay, going to say 25% chance of a second spice below level 10, 75% at level 10. Ascending and getting a new ghost to get more low-level numbers. --TechSmurf 02:45, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

Hey TS, I was looking at both of your charts and I noticed that your ghost didn't level up at fight number 4 both times. Also the first time, it leveled up at fight number 10 instead of 9. Is that right or you just did the chart wrong? Cause it could mean the ghosts don't level up exactly like familiars gain weight.--Pepeson 01:34, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

  • I lost a fight on my first chart early on-- I forgot to add that. Though I don't remember any leveling up at the 4th fight. We'll see with my third ghost. --TechSmurf 03:37, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

Ah, I see. I still find the 4th fight thing odd. I'm almost sure I've seen my ghost level up at that time. One other thing, does ghost level have a limit? If so, is it 20, like familiars? Thanks for all your trouble, man.--Pepeson 02:53, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

  • PM summons all max out at level 10. --TechSmurf 03:08, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

I see. Thanks for your patience and time.--Pepeson 01:53, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

I just got a Spice Ghost today, and watched it; Blepblup *did* level up after his 4th and 9th battles. Also, he dropped spice after two of the battles, so the notes about level 5 abilities: "and can begin dropping more than one spice per day" is not correct. --Terion 09:32, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

  • Are you sure? It could be rare enough no spaders noticed it. Well, there aren't many people spading this at the moment, it would seem.--Pepeson 02:58, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
    • Today I got a second and third spice from my ghost while it was level 3 (and a fourth after it made level 4!). The odds of this happening, one presumes, are hideously low; but it is definitely not required for the ghost to be level 5 before dropping multiple spices. --Hellion 05:28, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
