Has anyone had their spice ghost drop spices after any summoning other than the first? I haven't. --Drab Emordnilap 08:42, 13 April 2008 (CDT)

Today it dropped spices 4 times. Definitely on the first and second combats, and then I think on the 3rd and 5th. I would have recorded it a little more accurately, but I was rushing since it was almost rollover. It was definitely more than it has ever dropped for me. Yeah mine seems to drop two, usually on the first two summonings, almost every single day now. Occasionally I get more than two, and rarely, I get only one.--Rutherfoo 21:37, 2 May 2008 (CDT)
That's interesting. To me it implies a mechanic a bit like the salve. The first spice is automatic, there's a lower chance each turn of the second one, an even lower chance of the third one, and so on. Presumably the chances increase as the ghost levels. That might explain why you're getting the second spice on turn 2 now. --Starwed 22:36, 2 May 2008 (CDT)

Names

Deleveling

It seems to delevel, at least with one of its attacks, going by the messages of the clockwork detective skull. — SvdB 05:46, 14 April 2008 (CDT)

I'm getting an additional message upon summoning it, occurring after the normal message:
Puckpack shakes some of the spice into your opponent's eyes as he gets accustomed to his new body.

Doing some investigation at the warren. The first step was to deal with the opening delevel. A level 10 ghost deleveled bunny defense by 5 all 9 times I was able to test. Once I fumbled, and it engulfed the bunny, for a combined delevel of -10 ML. (So presumably the engulf was -1.) --Starwed 20:32, 4 May 2008 (CDT)

  • True, I guess all the observed minuses are actually only to defense. So does reducing a monster's ML in combat by -10 ML reduce the defense only by 9, or by 10? --Starwed 00:49, 5 May 2008 (CDT)
    • Answering my own question, disco-poking a bunny will increase your barehanded damage by exactly 1 for each poke. (Up to and beyond -10 ML.) So that suggests that, in combat, each -1 ML lowers defense by exactly 1. I suppose there could be a different effect if you applied -10 ML all at once? --Starwed 21:08, 5 May 2008 (CDT)
  • Shouldn't make a difference. Just be aware that adding +10ML normally boosts defence my 9, for use in calculating the initial monster defence. So, what was the exact test for deleveling with a 10 pound ghost?--QuantumNightmare 21:19, 5 May 2008 (CDT)
    • Right, I knew how defense scaled with +ML effects. But to test how defense was lowered, I simply checked how much damage I normally did, and compared to that. Hey, where'd he go?

My ghost disappears (sic) some days, no idea why. He was absent a day or two earlier this week, showed up yesterday, is gone again today. I can get the jump just fine. Could it be a bug connected with his being my second spice ghost this ascension? I'm level 12. Edit: I think the problem is that he will not show up if I have Auto-attack enabled. My current theory is that between levels 1-9, it has a %3..ish chance of dropping spices. After that, well, I need a few more days of testing. --TechSmurf 06:23, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

  • Okay, level 10 ability seems to guarantee another spice drop on the second summon, as well as a third some time during the rest of the summons. --TechSmurf 03:25, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
    • Three spice days: 8/12. Seems to be a 2/3 chance of a third spice drop-- and I'm going to theorize that there's a 1/3 chance of a second spice drop under 10 pounds. I may just suck it up and summon a new spice ghost. --TechSmurf 03:06, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Hey TS, I was looking at both of your charts and I noticed that your ghost didn't level up at fight number 4 both times. Also the first time, it leveled up at fight number 10 instead of 9. Is that right or you just did the chart wrong? Cause it could mean the ghosts don't level up exactly like familiars gain weight.--Pepeson 01:34, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

Ah, I see. I still find the 4th fight thing odd. I'm almost sure I've seen my ghost level up at that time. One other thing, does ghost level have a limit? If so, is it 20, like familiars? Thanks for all your trouble, man.--Pepeson 02:53, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

I just got a Spice Ghost today, and watched it; Blepblup *did* level up after his 4th and 9th battles. Also, he dropped spice after two of the battles, so the notes about level 5 abilities: "and can begin dropping more than one spice per day" is not correct. --Terion 09:32, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

    • Today I got a second and third spice from my ghost while it was level 3 (and a fourth after it made level 4!). The odds of this happening, one presumes, are hideously low; but it is definitely not required for the ghost to be level 5 before dropping multiple spices. --Hellion 05:28, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
