I stand corrected, thanks. Got bad information from a friend. --DataVortex 22:24, 6 June 2006 (CDT)

Am I the only one who thinks that ""Bththththththth" all the livelong day" is a reference to "I've been working on the Railroad"? You can google it and check out the tune if you want. Don't get me wrong, I'm not whining about it just want to see if I am the only fool out there. --Ice Jedi5 21:30, 7 June 2006 (CDT)

  • It's possible. I googled the phrase "all the livelong day" and found more hits that were NOT that song than I had expected, though. The most interesting is that there seems to be a song that's actually called "All the Livelong Day", in which a bunch of different workers sing about their days. That title may itself be a reference to IBWOTRR, though, because the line "Like the song say, all the livelong day" keeps recurring in the song, and I suspect the song they're referring to is not the one they're singing.
There's also a book called "All the Livelong Day: The Meaning and Demeaning of Routine Work", which looks interesting. But I doubt Jick would have thrown that in as a reference, and again I suspect they got the title from IBWOTRR, anyway... -- Old Ned 03:25, 8 June 2006 (CDT)

Stench Resistance.

Just letting everyone know, I just used about 20 adventures on the hippies, with elemntal saucesphere on (ie Stench resistance and other elements too) and I have already collected 7 spanish flies. Makes me quite certain stench resistance has no effect on fly dropping.--V38 05:35, 14 October 2006 (CDT) K, I've done a lot more adventuring with stench resistance. Had 50 flies drop so there appears to be no affect. If anyone else disproves this go ahead and put the info back. For now though, I'm pretty sure it's just a rumour or bad luck. --V38 10:31, 14 October 2006 (CDT)

Obtain Chance

It seems to be that it is 100% drop from monsters who drop it when you have less than 5 of them in your inventory. it's not 100% when you have 5 or more. coz when you trade them for around the world, they seem to reset to 100%. either that or it's bad RNG. --Stevetek 07:33, 12 July 2007 (CDT)

I did not try with <5 in inventory, but at +313% item drop, got 80/80 flies. Also at +248% item drop, got 206/255 flies. This si right about 25%. Data here:http://kolspading.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=55 --Top1214 19:19, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

Post-War

I'm pretty sure you can only get these at the pre-war hippy camp, which is unfortunate for us trophy hunters. Can anyone confirm this? --rholliday 21:00, 24 July 2007 (CDT)

This was the case prior to rollover on 13 Aug 2007. This was changed in a trivial update. --Deusnoctum 01:46, 14 August 2007 (CDT)

Seems like for fly-hunting, the Hippy Camp Bombed Back to the Stone Age is better than the regular Hippy Camp. All the monsters in both eras drop flies, but in the stone age: no pesky non-combats. Yes? No? --Jef 17:05, 22 August 2007 (CDT)

Drops with monsters

How come none of the monsters listed in the drop locations sections actually drop the spanish fly? You can check on their monster pages if you wish. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Anon (talkcontribs) on 31 August 2008

  • Caveat: I've never actually done this quest so I don't know what I'm talking about. Did you actually try to get them to drop or are you going exclusively by the monster pages? Because pages on the Wiki can be badly maintained; I saw only one which explicitly noted the drop of the fly. However, the data pages list it as a quest drop for all monsters (the infoboxes on the monster pages, as well as the location page index). --Bagatelle 21:28, 31 August 2008 (CDT)

Counting in Chat

So I went to count how many I collected today in chat, and got this message: "You have 3 Moscas de España." I am surprised to see this not mentioned anywhere, being a fun (and unique?) little quirk. --Pneuma08 17:44, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
