Talk:Slay Your Nemesis Quest

Off-hand remarks
I tried completing the fly bend with the flyswatter in my off-hand, and it didn't work. I tried completing the salad door with the tongs in my off-hand ... it also didn't work.
I guess I'm not ambidextrous. ;)
Should we put something in the main page about that, or is it too obscure? I'm thinking that the intended audience hasn't completed an ascension yet and isn't a level 12 Seal Clubber, and therefore won't even have dual-wield ... but I thought it was interesting to note. --Gothhenge 12:49, 26 March 2006 (CST)
Council trigger
I'm wondering what triggers this quest. Ascended as a hardcore boozetafarian, played to the end of turns. Checked the council, no nemesis quest. Drank a slap n' tickle, no stat point gain, checked the council, and the quest had appeared.
It can't possibly be related to drunkeness. I'm stumped. --Babyscarface 11:38, 30 November 2006 (CST)
- It could easily be based on total substats. Remember, this is a really old quest, likely dating back to before stats were divided down into stat points and substat points. How many stat points did you have before and after the quest opened? --Quietust (t|c) 12:06, 30 November 2006 (CST)
Editing the main article due to NS13 changes?
I know I'm far from the first one to notice that this is no longer a Council Quest. We should probably take most, or all of the stuff currently in the article and dump into a "Pre-NS13" section after/while the new content is added. I'd do it myself, but I'm a bit busy at the moment and am afraid I'd screw up if I didn't take it slow and steady. Hope the First Visit text will help, in case whoever is more up for the task of the editing I'm suggesting doesn't have it:
"Animus! I have grave news! An incredibly dangerous artifact, guarded by our guild for generations, has been stolen by your Nemesis! You must recover it from her before he discovers how to use it, or great catastrophe will surely ensue!"
"Wait, what? Since when do I have a Nemesis?" you ask.
"Well, we took a vote, and you weren't here, so she's your Nemesis. You should come to meetings more often. Anyway, this is not the time for such argument. Your Nemesis is rumored to lair within the Big Mountains, but I fear you have not the required mettle to defeat her. You must recover and master the Legendary Epic Weapon of the Turtle Tamer before you have any hope of victory. It will be a long and arduous task -- are you prepared?"
"No."
"Too bad. The first step will be to smith for yourself an Epic Weapon. You must seek out the two oldest and wisest men in the kingdom -- one will provide you with the first part of the weapon, and also, if you approach him on the correct day, the good fortune necessary to win the second part from the other, who runs the casino. One of his myriad games of chance will provide what you seek, with luck. The third part of the Epic Weapon is up to you to locate.
"The town's meatsmith will provide you with the knowledge required to construct the Epic Weapon; I will grant you the Meat necessary to purchase the proper tool. Once you have completed the weapon, return to me."
Meat.gif You gain 1,000 Meat.
Sorry if it's a bit long =/ --Animus 10:59, 1 July 2007 (CDT)
- Actually, this quest's been temporarily removed while Riff revamps it. That text is all from the Legendary Epic Weapon Quest. --TechSmurf 11:14, 1 July 2007 (CDT)
- I finished this quest a couple of days after ns13 rolled out.Lotusduck 10:16, 3 July 2007 (CDT)
The Post-NS13 Nemesis Quest
Does anyone have any idea what progress, if any, is being made in this quest? Any vague notion of a release date? --Olaf the Hungry 02:10, 8 August 2007 (CDT)
One of my multis found the cave and fought her nemesis yesterday. All requirements and rewards were the same as pre-NS13. However, the guild still tells her to "check later" for help finding her nemesis.--Carny Asada 00:10, 23 August 2008 (CDT)
Think we may have figured this out: A clannie was able to get an epic hat for one of her multis this week. Both of our multis have not ascended since NS13 rolled out. So if you haven't ascended since then, you can still get your hat. Maybe.--Carny Asada 23:14, 24 August 2008 (CDT)
- Just completed the quest with my girlfriend's character. Confirmed and added to the big bold notes on top. --Phelyan 10:25, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
Should we change the redirect page for "nemesis" to reference the disambiguation, or perhaps to the new Nemesis quest page? --Lukarnis 09:10, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
Guild not council now!
Now that this is a guild quest, the counsel quest that dosn't need to be compleeted to reach the NS quest stuff should be removed.----
This ISNT a guild quest. The guild legendary weapon quest (not weapon, rather than hat) is different, as has already been pointed out. It may be grouped with the legendary epic weapon quest once it's re-introduced.
Yes, your point stands, but for the wrong reason. Monsieur 09:14, 21 September 2007 (CDT)
ok, and under this light, i think i should re-put the "not required to face the NS" that i removed a while ago, until it is confermed as a part of the epic weapon quest or just like it used to be Ps: i don't know why the first sig didn't go through, but that was me.
