Grates
So, currently, I'm theorizing that each grate gives a 5% chance of passing the grate test. All my evidence is anecdotal at this point, but I recall making it through every grate when all 20 were opened, none when 0 were opened, and, uh, the appropriate amount when intermediate numbers were opened. --TechSmurf 01:14, 12 July 2008 (CDT)
Glyph Tests
I currently have 11/20 known glyphs, and pass the first glyph test every time, pass the second somewhat less than half, and fail the third every time. Again, more numbers forthcoming. --TechSmurf 01:21, 12 July 2008 (CDT)
- My clannie has 12, I've 13. We both always fail the 3rd glyph test. I always pass the 1st and 2nd. I believe he always passes the first and second as well. --Flargen 01:25, 12 July 2008 (CDT)
Sewer Exploring Datas
So. The current working theory I've heard is that you need ~100 "points" to get through the sewers. Killing a monster gets you 1 point. Exploring gets you more, obviously. A few people in my clan have gotten through via boosting combats to 100% in ~100 turns. I'm assuming there's some variance in the number of points needed. I've broken down my sewer exploration data in two ways-- by amounts of each test passed (assuming each test is weighted differently), and by number of tests passed (assuming more tests passed per exploration yields more points):
- Nugget of info: Images advance every 13 points (100/8=12.5). Backed up by killing 13 monsters to go from 1 to 2 sewer images on the second dive. --TechSmurf 02:25, 14 July 2008 (CDT)

More data, and it's weird. Went through with just a code binder (11 codes), though I stupidly forgot it for the first tunnel. Only a couple of grates were open, and I opened a couple during my run.

As you can see, the numbers don't add up. I'm starting to think that the number of grates that your clan has opened affects the point values, and since I opened grates during my run, the point values changed. --Dweasel 01:40, 22 July 2008 (CDT)
- Actually, it adds up just fine -- you got 29 non-combat points from 7 times passing the 3 tunnels+ladder, and 1 time passing the 3 tunnels. Ergo, the 3 tunnels is worth 1 point and the ladder is worth 3 points. --PsyMar 03:28, 25 July 2008 (CDT)
- No, that would mean taking the tunnel and not passing any tests is worth zero points. On my second spade run (for which I didn't collect extra data so I'm going by the dungeon log and memory) I had 69 combats and 16 tunnels. I had no items or code binder, and I believe the grate was open on 4 or 5 of the tunnels. If the 11 or 12 tunnels I went down without the grate open didn't count, then that would mean just the grate alone is worth 6-8 points. Failing the Three-ladder Test

Larroquette
Uh ... what? John Larroquette in his role on Night Court as Dan Fielding played a slick, urbane womanizer. I watched the whole series over the last couple of months and he did NOT speak "amusing off-kilter English." This may be a reference to another John Larroquette role (though I honestly can't think of any time he's played a character who talked like a caveman) but it AIN'T his role on Night Court.--Yunatwilight 02:09, 25 March 2010 (UTC)
