Talk:Salty Mouth
Got 2, then 3 adventures from a can of sir schlitz with salty mouth. Admittedly under blender, but I suspect there's a +1 adventure effect on the beer consumption. --Fig bucket 14:43, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
What is the added message? --Space turtle 20:13, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
- The consumption message is shown with each beer item; eg for Sir Schlitz. --Fig bucket 20:39, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
I suspect that the bonus adventures would apply to all beer-type items (as they do to Frosty's frosty mug). --Mud Man 20:25, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
I also got an extra adventure from Sir Schlitz after drinking one with the effect on. I'm not under blender or anything else booze-related either. --Desert Eagle 23:26, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
I got an extra adventure from ice cold willer while in BM. --Ohnoanotherputz 01:58, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
Has anyone tested other beer types and alewife ale? basically all drinks that give mp? --Brion thenotgiant 20:57, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
Levio here. I've done extensive spading with these nuts (cause they're so good in Bad Moon!). I've found that the effect doubles the turns from the foties/willers/schlitz beers 100% of the time, and there's no variance. Imp ales aren't so easy to peg, as I've gotten 3 turns from some, which is not a double of 1 or 2 turns but double the average of the two's 1.5. MP gain is not affected, nor is stat gain/loss. March 12 2009.
I just got 8 adventures from a Sir Schlitz with Salty Mouth and Ode to Booze. I'm not Blender. --shockeroo 00:14, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
9 adventures from Swiller without Ode. But it seems primitive beer doesn't count. --Phantomreader42 18:59, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
- Just tested, and whatever the state before, it definitely works with primitive beer now.--Salien 21:43, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
- I got a lot more adventures from a Schlitz than I was expecting:
You guzzle the can of Sir Schlitz, and feel moderately refreshed. Man. You really needed that. You lose an effect: Salty Mouth Adventures You gain 6 Adventures. You gain 2 Mojo Points. You gain 1 Drunkenness.
- No Ode, no Blender --Hippoking 15:33, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
How does it interact with the frosty mug? Also, I just drank a bloody beer and got 5 adventures from this. No ode, no blender. :() Imakuni 14:11, 23 April 2009 (UTC)

The Lagers
Okay the page lists several beers that do work with this and is explicit in mentioning that the cup of primative beer doesn't work, but it is silent on the two lagers: Ram's Face and McMillicancuddy's. So, yes or no? --Club (#66669) (Talk) 18:22, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
Yes, on both counts. --Crawly2 18:56, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
Salty Mouth section on drink pages
I'm not really sure what wiki protocol is, but is it really necessary to have the Salty Mouth description / adventure range posted on each relevant drink's page? I think it'd be more than enough to have each such page contain a note reading "This drink grants an extra 4-6 adventures when consumed with the Salty Mouth effect active. Doing so removes the Salty Mouth effect." or some such. --Crawly2 17:35, 21 July 2009 (UTC)
Notes section is unclear, or wrong, I think...
One paragraph reads: "Drinking any of the relevant drinks will remove the Salty Mouth effect, regardless of how many turns were left. The amount of turns left on the effect at the time of drinking has no impact on the adventure gains."
Given that Salty Mouth is only available from eating Beer Nuts, and the Beer Nuts page makes it clear that the effect lasts for only one adventure (presumably the one immediately following the eating of the nuts) - not until a relevant drunk is drunk - then I don't understand the "turns left" statements in that paragraph.
The only possible exception that I can think of is the Bag o' Tricks' ability to extend effects. I don't know whether Salty Mouth can be extended in that way, or by any other means, and I have no access to Beer Nuts to test this.
Unless my brain is fogged from too many green beers... --Kay Dekker 17:57, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
- Isn't it possible to eat multiple packets of beer nuts? --Club (#66669) (Talk) 19:36, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
- Dunno - as I said, I have no access to beer nuts - is there an Eat Multiple option for them? Otherwise, surely, the effect from eating one pack on turn n would be used up on turn n+1 when you'd eat the next pack... --Kay Dekker 18:01, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
- Eating does not consume a turn. The beer nut page says you can sometimes get them from Chez Snootee, so presumably there are days when it would be easy to rack up multiple consumption of these. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 20:25, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, eating multiple extends the effect, and yes opening the BoT also extends it. --Fig bucket 22:23, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
- Cool! thanks for checking this out for me! --Kay Dekker 01:08, 24 September 2009 (UTC)

PYEC (or Bag o' Tricks, I guess). It was worth a shot back when I tested it. (; --Crawly2 08:11, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
- I'd forgot (never having had one!) the PYEC's effect-extending ability - thanks for the reminder! Would anyone with a PYEC or a BoT and access to nuts care to check if you can get more than one turn of Salty Mouth that way? --Kay Dekker 18:01, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
There are multiple ways to gain more than 1 adv worth of salty mouth, multiple consumptions, extending through at least 2 methods using items. The real question is why on earth would you want to extend your turns with salty mouth. What the original writer is intending to get across is that if you want to use the salty mouth effect for gaining additional advs you should only use one packet of beer nuts at a time and then drink your beer before adventuring. --Uzziah 00:00, 26 September 2009 (UTC)
Salty Mouth with Ode to Booze
Just curious as to how salty mouth's added advs relate to Ode to Booze added advs, been using a few (20-30) packets of beer nuts with cups of primitive beer and have gotten from 8 to 11 advs which makes sense for the lower end of the cup of primitive beer range, (2 + 4) + 2(ode for 6 adv booze) but doesn't seem correct for the higher end (5 + 6) + 4(ode for 11 adv booze) = 15. Does Ode work off the base 2-5 advs or the adjusted 6-11 advs? --Uzziah 01:22, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
- Per Consumables, Salty Mouth applies after Ode. So 2-5 base after ode is 3-7 (adds 1 in all cases except for a 5 base, when it adds 2). Salty mouth then adds 4 to 6 resulting in a final range of 7-13. Not seeing the higher numbers isn't too surprising given a small sample. In no case would you see 14 or 15, since ode is applied first. --Lordebon 01:35, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
The Micromicrobrewery
It's St. Sneaky Pete's Day, so I thought I'd have me a green beer! They're for sale at The Gnomish Micromicrobrewery. So I eat a packet of beer nuts and troop on over there for a cool, refreshing...... total lack of Salty Mouth fulfillment.
I got 2 adventures and no special message from drinking, and the effect failed to go away. Does this effect always fail to work on restaurant goodies? If so, a little message to that effect would be nice. --Kilyle 15:40, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
2CRS
Anyone want to add that it doesn't work in 2crs? I don't know how to do the formatting and stuff. Source for info: http://forums.kingdomofloathing.com/vb/showpost.php?p=5034264&postcount=62 -AppleSaws (talk) 20:26, 27 June 2019 (UTC)
