Can this item be traded? It doesn't say it can't.--Someone Else 14:24, 18 May 2006 (CDT)

It only took me three turns to get one, but I was not able to send it in a gift box or put it in my display case, even though, as you say, it's only says "Cannot be discarded/Quest Item" and doesn't say it can't be traded. --Crowther 14:51, 18 May 2006 (CDT)

  • By being a Quest Item, it is not tradable. All quest items are not tradable or display-case-able. Any quest items currently in display cases were placed in the case before those items were made untrabable quest items and if they were taken out of the case, could not be put back in. (I used to have a bunch of mosquito larvae and spooky saplings in mine before they became one time quest drops) --JRSiebz (|§|) 16:19, 18 May 2006 (CDT)
  • I believe Someone Else made this comment because this is the (only?) quest item that doesn't explicitly state that it's not tradable. Which is strange because all even all the other new Toot Oriole Quest content quest items explicitly state non-tradable. Probably just an oversight. --TheDotGamer 16:29, 18 May 2006 (CDT)
  • It is marked no trade in the dialog as of Sept. 28th 2006. Also, one of my characters has gotten this item while in hardcore (3rd ascension) which contradicts the ascension page saying this is a "Really, Really One Time" adventure. Does anyone else know anything about this? --kjacobso 20:47, 28 Sept. 2006 (EDT)
  • First off, try to add your comments to the end of the page to keep the flow of the page better, especially if it's dealing with the same topic. I moved your comment for you this time. Secondly, you can automatically sign your posts with a timestamp by just adding "--~~~~" (without the quotes) to the end of your post. As to answer your question, it sounds like your character that got this item was created before the new quest was created and never volunteered to do the new quest. Therefore you were probably able to get it in your current ascension, but likely not in any future or past ones. At least, I think this is the case.--TheDotGamer 18:09, 28 September 2006 (CDT)

I myself just got a second Pile of Shiny Pebbles. I had to go talk to Toot for King Ralph's Letter, but it still said on my Quest page that i needed to talk to Toot. I adventured at Noob Cave, got the pebbles, and the "Talk to Toot" thing disappeared from my quest page.--Jubbers 01:08, 10 October 2006 (CDT)

It's not necessary, however. The "Talk to Toot" thing will also disappear from your quest log if you *gasp* talk to the toot. He doesn't say anything particularly interesting, of course. Nor is it really important. One can acquire the pebbles on different ascensions, but there really isn't much point to it. --Aardvark (Talk | Contribs) 01:14, 10 October 2006 (CDT)

Acutally, talking to Toot won't fix it, you have to get the pebbles. This only occurs on some ascensions, though.--Jubbers 01:27, 10 October 2006 (CDT)

That's odd; it fixed it for me. Still, it's not at all important for ascending. --Aardvark (Talk | Contribs) 01:30, 10 October 2006 (CDT)

Can This Still Be Acquired?

With the advent of the new, new Toot Oriole quest, is it still possible to get this item? I can't even determine if it's still necessary for the quest. --Lxndr 19:33, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
