Ok Now that the pet rock equipment pet rock "Snooty" disguise came out through the Summon Hilarious Objects skill has anyone tried maxing out the weight with all skills availble?

Did anyone notice that you CAN equip the pet rock with a lead necklace? Since you can equip it to increase its weight its weight must have an effect on something. - Baggerschmakle Jan.28

The familiar might be a reference to the Pet Rock in Adventure Quest. It's a daily companion/familiar. Does anyone else think so? -shadowhntr7

  • Let's wait until we get more information before trying to find references. Odds are, it's simply a reference to pet rocks. There's no need for an elaborate explanation when a simple one will suffice. --Aardvark (Talk | Contribs) 02:37, 24 December 2005 (Central Standard Time)

I noticed that Jick had haikus up for the Crimbo familiars, and updated their pages accordingly.--Hogulus 19:18, 3 January 2006 (Central Standard Time)

The article really isn't the place for speculation, so I removed that. Although nothing official has been stated, it seems fairly obvious that the rock does absolutely nothing in combat, and so the article now reflects that. If someone does want to take a rock against ye olde Bitch and give the theory a shot, go right ahead - but the article really isn't the place for unbased "but it might...". --Aardvark (Talk | Contribs) 23:47, 6 January 2006 (Central Standard Time)

I have beaten the NS now twice with my Pet Rock, as a Seal Clubber and my LTS was doing on average 57 damage the first time and about 60 damage the second time! 0 pound Rock with lead necklace and Sympathy.--FatQuack 00:22, 7 January 2006 (Central Standard Time)

Did it again with my HC character, still doing over 50 damage with the LTS. Does anybody know how much LTS does without a Pet Rock? --FatQuack 15:13, 11 January 2006 (Central Standard Time)

  • Hm. If I'm remembering my last time at the NS, using the wand, 2x flaming talons, and both Clubber talons, my LTS would hit in the 50-60 range; more for crits, of course. This is with a pickle familiar. I'd be very surprized if the rock affects LTS damage, or, indeed, any damage. Mr. Blonde 00:45, 12 January 2006 (Central Standard Time)
  • a 1-kill pet rock with sympathy and lead necklace doesn't appear to do anything to sauceror spell damage cap either - both saucegeyser and stream of sauce are capped near 40 damage with and without the rock --Zerotonine 07:17, 15 January 2006 (Central Standard Time)

Name

Is there anyway we could change the familiar item pet rock to a different page? I find it troublesom that typing in the words "pet rock" takes me to the item. Maybe change it to page, [[Pet Rock-Pre]]?--Naten186 21:40, 9 January 2006 (Central Standard Time)

  • No, because of the way our standards are written. If you want to access information on the familiar, try Pet Rock. If you want to access information on the item, type pet rock. It's case sensitive. --Aardvark (Talk | Contribs) 00:40, 10 January 2006 (Central Standard Time)

Just so it's written down somewhere: Ascending with a 20lb pet rock makes no difference to its lack of arenaability. I may check combat later. (Nor is it considered by the game to be trophy-worthy ;)--ArgghFW 08:09, 2 February 2006 (Central Standard Time)

Someone has to have a better way of phrasing that then I did.-Carados 21:46, 18 April 2006 (CDT)

Mr. Store Equipment

Good to have the Wax Lips, Shatner/Shanter and Pole listed here with the note of being functional, but has anyone tested if Plastic Pumpkin Basket still works with Pet Rocks? (Both for damage and +items, of course.) I ran out of adventures before thinking of this, but... - Fatmus 14:16, 8 December 2006 (CST)

  • The familiar specific messages for the lips/pole/etc aren't set for the pet rock (hence no message), but the plastic pumpkin bucket should work on the pet rock exactly as it does on any other familiar.--Dehstil (t|c) 16:28, 8 December 2006 (CST)

Question about all-familiar equipment...

Are the non-Mr. Store all-familiar equipment pieces (i.e. Ant hoe) compatible with the Pet Rock and/or Toothsome Rock? --Rotarran 15:21, 9 August 2007 (CDT)

What about the oversized fish scaler? Can it attack with that?
