I eventually had to give this up, but the needed amount is > 44,150 meat. I think that the message changed to having more than half sometime between 24k and 25k meat. --Ithanox 21:26, 26 June 2007 (EDT)

There appears to be four message one gets from the sisters in total, though I only wrote the last one down. "Sister (Hippocampus/Fornix/Colliculi/Ganglia/Cerebellum) approaches you and takes the Meat. "Thank you for recovering this Meat!" she says. "You're almost done! It won't be long now before all of the Meat is recovered!" Further adventuring in The ThemThar Hills gives "You've already retrieved all of the stolen Meat." The amount of meat in total appears to be around 100,000. --Sparksol 01:43, 27 June 2007 (CDT)

My quest wasn't finished until I got around 100K meat. I missed one figure, but from what I did get I had between ~99700 to ~100900 extrapolating that last figure. It took me 29 fights to finish, and the sister's text changed to having more than half at around 50K at around 14-15 fights in. I was using a 40lb CPM and running Polka, so I was getting between 3k-4k/fight. --Enkazama 01:50, 27 June 2007 (CDT)

The healing after finishing the quest restores a maximum of 1000 Hp per visit. --FatQuack 06:57, 27 June 2007 (CDT)

Like the Organic Orchard, I was able to get in here as a frat warrior after killing enough hippies on the battlefield. Orchard was first, this 2nd - I still can't get to the farm.

I'm pretty sure that the title is a reference to George Carlin's "I Used To Be An Irish Catholic" from his Class Clown album (though his phrase was "Our Lady of Perpetual Motion") - anyone else have any ideas on the title? --Mahvelousmeat 15:26, 27 June 2007 (CDT)

  • 'Our Lady of Perpetual...' isn't a particularly uncommon prefix for convents/nunnerys/places like that, so drawing references based on only those first four words seems pretty pointless to me. I'm probably going to go ahead and remove the '..perpetual indulgence' reference too, coz unless someone's assumed that 'zomg, all those celibate women in one place must be lesbians', I can't see the relevance. Feel free to correct me if I'm missing something though. --Psynn 13:16, 11 July 2007 (CDT)

A leprechaun will definitely help here!! Art Vandelay 00:17, 29 June 2007 (CDT)

Yes. I can verify that a 40lb leprechaun familiar DEFINITLY helped me finish the quest a whole heck of a lot sooner. --GameWhino 17:25, 2 July, 2007 (CST)

Meat Drop Cap

my meat drop bonus are as follows

105% - 21 pound leprechaun (buff/skill and fam. equipment included)
15% - meatspout staff
15% - baron's money clip
7% - lucky rabbit's foot
30% - wasabi sinuses
50% - polka of plenty
300% - Mick's IcyVapoHotness Inhaler
Total: 522% - bonus meat drop

including the original amount of drops, average of 1000 * (1 + 5.22) = 6220 meat theoretically. Yet the drops were an average of 4700 meat. Anyone have any other data on this?--Myst44 01:56, 3 July 2007 (CDT)

More Data

It does look like something is limiting the drops or the effectiveness of the drop bonuses. Here is what I found.

I started with a 25 lb Leprechaun(which increased to 26 lbs about halfway through my tests, making these numbers somewhat shakier). Pre-NS13 this would have been a +125 to 130% increase. In 8 combats I got

 1991, 2118, 2142, 2314, 2349, 2360, 2369 and 2424

for an average of 2258. About what I would have expected with an increase of 125-130% over a base meat drop of 1000.

I then equipped the money clip (which should have increased my drop rate by 15% to +140-145%). This time I got

 2138, 2312, 2315, 2406, 2552, 2567, 2567 and 2574

for an average of 2429. Again, about what I would have expected.

Finally, I equipped a meatspout staff (increasing my expected drop rate by another 15% to 155-160%). This time, I *didn't* see the expected increase. I got

 2146, 2213, 2239, 2516, 2549, 2588, 2637 and 2672

for an average of 2445. This is *not* what I would have expected for a +155-160% increase.

Unfortunately at this point I completed the quest and so couldn't make any more tests.

I know the number of trials here is too low to be definitive but it does look like *something* is going on. Ideas? Thoughts? Suggestions? -- Tanstaafl 14:09, 25 July 2007 (CDT)

Meat Vortex

Using a meat vortex added to my meat on hand so I am guessing that meat does not count towards the quest.

Yeah, but it's really helpful, as the monsters give you ~500 meat/vortex.

How many hippy kills?

How many hippies need to be killed to make this quest open for the War Frat outfit? I'm sure the number is around somewhere, but I can't seem to find it, and it'd be a helpful Wossname benchmark when trying to do all the side-quests on opposing sides. --MoxyFox 18:34, 23 October 2007 (CDT)

way of the surprising fist

  • so, did anybody actually complete this quest while under challenge path #2? am i over-thinking it? 100k @ 10/adventure = 10k turns. wow. --Evilkolbot 23:50, 24 August 2011 (CEST)
  • We may never know if there is a trophy for doing that, and I pity those who'll try and find out.--Tombot 00:12, 25 August 2011 (CEST)
  • With +meat you should be able to hit 25/turn relatively easily. But, yes, thousands of turns, nobody should bother. --Flargen 03:40, 25 August 2011 (CEST)
