Talk:Mutant rattlesnake
this page already exists as 1 mutant rattlesnake --ElectricJello 06:00, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
- I haven't seen this encounter, but if the adventure title really contains a "1" then this should probably be a redirect to that one. --Itsatrap 07:45, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
- That depends on if the "1" is like the articles "a"/"an", which sometimes are and sometimes aren't part of the monster's "true" name. And it seems fairly likely that the name is a typo that hasn't been fixed yet. --Flargen 07:47, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
Drop Chances
Drop chances? I see that they don't always drop an item.--Eniteris 20:40, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
Out of about 10 encounters last night I've had 0 drops and out of 2 so far tonight still 0 item drops. I do have some +item equipment (bhh helmet & pants, war medals, mayfly bait necklace) on and a plastic pumpkin bucket on my familiar and I've been adventuring in hobopolis side areas 100% of the time.--Neuroticpunk 05:57, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
Level 40 Turtle Tamer with +81% meat drops and +234.11% item drops
Damage I killed it with | My max HP | Meat | Item | Stats | Notes |
2522 | 380 | invisible bag | 72, 29, 30 | Moxie day; Fireworks triggered item drop | |
708 | 2522 | 443 | - | 50, 37, 52 | Moxie day; Fireworks gave stats |
709 | 2525 | 499 | invisible bag | 57, 37, 39 | Moxie day; Fireworks triggered item drop |
819 | 2776 | 474 | invisible bag | 67, 25, 45 | Moxie day; Fireworks gave stats |
So either it doesn't scale or it's capped.
Also, if it's relevant, in 67 adventures I've fought two of these and a mutant gila monster so it seems like it's the standard holiday monster once in 30 adventures appearance rate.

I have since learned how scaling actually works and feel a bit stupid for posting the above (it was my first attempt at spading). I do, however, have some old item drop data to provide from my spreadsheet where I also tracked my other 10 encounters with them:
With +234% item drop I received witch hat, nothing, nothing (fireworks: item), nothing, beholed bedsheet (fireworks: item), nothing, invisible bag (fireworks: item), nothing (fireworks: item), nothing, and witch hat (fireworks: item). --Kitsunegami 08:31, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
Critical Hit
I'm running with a 20lb barrrncle. I got the “It unhinges its jaw and swallows your leg up to the knee. Fortunately, it chokes and has to spit it back out.” hit message. I'd say that's the critical. --JohnDoe244 10:47, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
Divine Cracker
I tried to pull an Item off of this monster using divine crackers spent 54 divine crackers using funkslinging nothing dropped. --Uzziah 18:00, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
Okay something is wrong. I have fought about five of these and haven't had a single item drop yet. I've got an item drop increase but I don't know how high it is. Ignore the post about the invisible bag, that was my multi.--Poundlor 14:31, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
Likewise, I have used divine crackers and attempted to pickpocket every mutant monster I've encountered, but have gotten no item drops from those activities. Ever. Also, I have mostly gotten witch hats, with only one invisible bag and one beholed bedsheet. --Cyferpunk 15:26, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
