Talk:Mutant Cactus Bud

Judging from the combat messages, it looks like it may be a combat leprechaun. --Quietust (t|c) 19:32, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

  • Now to hope those who have used it can properly spade how much of a leprechaun it is. Hobo monkey style leprechaun? Maybe even better? Straight leprechaun? I believe the damage it does is ongoing damage, as well, if I read the messages from the hatchling talk page correctly. --Flargen 19:35, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

Kind of a replacement hand turkey for those us who haven't hac-- I mean, who aren't rich? --Wavedash 22:02, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

Haiku seems to reference those jokes that go along the lines of "Liver? I hardly knew 'er!" --Depravity 22:36, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

Has this been tried in the Arena yet? --Lxndr 05:24, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

Yesterday mahi_mahi said he was going to try the arena today--Gotmilk 05:27, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

Here are the arena results: Familiar-Specific Equipment is a cactus monocle. It adds +5 to familiar weight.

The Cake-Shaped Area: Strength: Ultimate Cage Match, Weakness: Scavenger Hunt I think the Mutant Cactus Bud familiar also gives between +125% and +150% meat but I am not positive how to narrow it any further. I adventured in the Castle in the Sky with no weapons, no clothes, no accessories, and no familiar to make sure I had no +meat abilities/buffs. I then added only the familiar with the cactus monacle, making it 30-pounds. The highest minimum +% was 124.444% and the lowest maximum +% was 152.5%. I also think this familiar gives a +item drop but I have no idea how to even begin to figure the percentage. All from mahi_mahi_wings--Gotmilk 18:18, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

In order to quickly find what the meat drop bonus is, do this test:

  • Adventure naked in the beanbats for 15 adventures, recording the exact meat drops from each battle.
  • Equip the cactus at 30 pounds. Fight in the beanbats for another 15 turns, recording exact meat drops.
  • Finally, equip the baby bathysphere. Try to get your familiar weight down as low as you can go. Fight in the beanbats for 15 rounds, recording the exact meat drops from each battle.

Once this data is posted, it is very easy for spades to determine the exact +meat bonus of the cactus relative to the leprechaun.-QuantumNightmare 20:56, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

  • That's a very nice beginning. Looks like the cactus is more powerful than a leprechaun, so now I'm curious by how much. Can you get some data (~20 turns) at 10 and 40 pounds as well? Also, please run Polka for the rest of the testing. Item drops aren't important, so data can be simplified to this form: "41, 48, 48, 52, 51"-QuantumNightmare 20:55, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
