Talk:Mer-kin hookspear

Against a variety of ducks I got 25-32 meat extracted. Against a fluffy bunny, I got 1 meat, and against a knob goblin mad scientist I got 7. This is all consistent with meat extracted being 20% of a number in the monster's base meat drop range. --Prestige 00:41, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

Does wielding two give double the Meat?--Leicontis 02:15, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

I had 3 going (dual+disembodied hand); I still got about the same amount of meat as when wielding just one. --Fig bucket 15:26, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

I got 52 Meat on a critical against a Mer-kin scavenger. Looks more than 20% of its base Meat (I got 124 Meat after killing him with a total +60% Meat). It is possible that this thing is more effective underwater, or there's some underwater shenanigans we're not aware of.

Also, you only get the effect on the first critical hit, which is really good for the game. --Pcentella 14:43, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

The 20% figure is definitely going to need some ammending. Beanbats give 5-6. Only. Also, be careful of your sea data. We've discovered that there are hidden meat drop penalties in all sea zones, so your impression of base meat drops is probably off. I've been updating the wiki with corrected ranges as I collect data. It's somewhat slow, if for no other reason then I don't really want to keep using Fishy and the ranges are fairly large and require a few hundred data points to have high confidence in. --Flargen 08:24, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Observed new hit messages. will copy pasta it in right .... later.

Everybody says that Brittney spears better than you, but you manage to do a pretty good job of spearing your opponent with your Mer-kin hookspear. It deals 775 damage.--Brion thenotgiant 18:49, 25 March 2009 (UTC)

also You lunge at it, impaling it on your Mer-kin hookspear and dealing 794 damage. Way to go, Vlad!--Brion thenotgiant 18:51, 25 March 2009 (UTC)

Those look to be generic Spear messages, non-specific to the hookspear. Nicely noticed, though.--Ryo_Sangnoir 19:00, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
