New Quest!

Since today, there may be more to the Me and My Nemesis Quest than the Weapon! I met Safari Jack, Small-Game Hunter, and there is a new quest in my quest log. Xerada 13:12, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

Also, in the explanation, it should maybe say that once you do the 6x5 skill uses with the turtle tamer, you have to go talk to the NPC french guy again before you can go inside... Quite a few people got stuck with that, including me... --Eror11 14:44, 15 May 2010 (UTC)

Seems that you may only get to the higher tier hitman as you level. Have killed 4 Flocks of Seagulls as a Disco Bandit, now level 10. Darzil 22:45, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

Take a look at this forum post by Riff. Apparently you will only progress to the next hitman type after meeting some condition. It might just be level gated, might be something else. He also mentions the interval as 40 or 50 adventures, although a lot of people seeing less. --Prestige 00:25, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
Listening to radio show today, I hear there's a picture of Thomas Jefferson that says "thugs: 7/45, mob penguins: 8/60, assassins 9/75, named boss: 10/90" Obviously this refers to level/mainstat, assuming it's still accurate.--Prestige 01:59, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
Seems accurate, just encountered the boss type, mainstat was 91. I guessed it was connected to unlocking areas, found assassins after unlocking f'c'le (@level 9), boss after unlocking Castle in the sky (@level 10). Might be coincidence. --RikAstley 13:07, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

So I spent a chunk of today doing things like fighting Spooky Putty monsters and Trick-or-Treating and whatnot -- stuff that presumably doesn't count as a "normal" adventure for the purpose of triggering the goons -- and upon attempting a regular adventure I promptly encountered The Mariachi With No Name. It's been 104 adventures since I encountered the Mob Penguin hitman, and I never encountered the mariachi bandolero. Ever. --Baltar 02:04, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

Huh. I guess what happens is, the game starts you on hitman 1, regardless of your mainstat. It sets an interval until the next one (like semi-rares or FoB monsters). If you then meet the mainstat requirement to graduate to the next type of hitman, the game will advance you to the next type, even if you missed actually fighting a previous hitman because you weren't in a regular adventure.php zone. --Prestige 02:22, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

Yesterday I went strait to the the guild with a lvl 26 TT to initiate the quest the started adventuring. The first encounter was a Feast of Boris monster then I didn't encounter a single hitman in 250+ adventures. Today I checked to see if everything was set up right and it was. The first adventure was a hitman. I don't know if this means that in some cases things like the Feast of Boris monsters supersede the hitmen, bad RNG, or part of the mechanic.

General Nemesis Questions

How do we want to title the pages of the second and third Nemesis fights...? So far, I've been titling the third ones <Nemesis Name>, (The Nemesis' Lair), but there are a couple around that have different names (such as the PM one)...

As for the second fights, I haven't even bothered trying to figure out the name...Should we label it by the name of the place on the island (e.g., The Inner Compound for TTs, The Main Hall for S), or something consistent...? Isenet 00:16, 19 February 2010 (UTC)

Why is it that after the assassins table, 5 classes get instructions for what to do, but Accordion Thief section just says where some hacienda keys can be gotten? Is it because AT has the most annoyingly complex volcano lair setup? Or the most-click-intensive? I've only done this as one other class. I couldn't tell from this article what I should be doing, so I just poked around until I figured out some of it. Is this my invitation to rewrite that part?   • Not sure what you're asking. There are 6 keys to be gotten- most of them through the non-combat adventure "The Island Barracks". If you go to that page, it gives you a map of the possible results of adventuring there (18 outcomes). The keys are placed randomly within the Barracks, so as of now, you just need to go to every room in the Barracks to find all of your keys. As you go, pickpocketing the mariachis that you will encounter will sometimes yield a key. After that, simply enter the volcano lair.--Mr. Green 15:32, 15 May 2010 (UTC)

I spent over 60 turns looking for a 6th key last night and didn't find one. So I tried going to the Hacienda with only 5 and it worked. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say there are only 5 keys. --Axewound 14:23, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

OH! I guess the Sauceror instructions mean to keep making and drinking potions UNTIL I find the one that gives me Slimeform. Right now it just looks like you drink a 3-part potion and get Slimeform. I know it says "effects are randomized," but I had no earthly idea what that meant until I tried 2 potions and did NOT get Slimeform. I certainly wouldn't have made 3 or 4 of exactly the same potion. :( --StorellaDeville 02:21, 22 May 2010 (UTC)

So I fixed the Turtle Tamer part just now, which had not mentioned I had to go back to A Guy in the Bushes after defeating the hatted turtle guards, or else I'd never get into the volcano. Yay! No Requirement for fourth assasin

Pastamancer Quest

The Note at the pastamncer quest for the island says that there is no way to get the robe and getting the Elemental to level 3 at the same time, but i did. It is my first time being a Pastamancer.--Icon315♕ (|) 22:12, 25 January 2011 (UTC)

Possible Bug?

Hi. I'm on a Turtle Tamer ascension and I'm currently level 12. I forgot to complete my Chelonian Morningstar earlier in my run (stupid, I know) and I just remembered to do so now. I spent 100 turns in the Fun House and still no sign of the non-combat which lets you fight the Clownlord. I check back with my guild but the message that she gives is the one which indicates that you've started the quest but have not fulfilled the requirements. I'm assuming the non-combat superlikely in the Fun House is triggered by your guildie giving you the quest outright, so I can't get my legendary epic weapon and can't fight demonic Stella. Two pairs of Pants?

Lately upon reaching the center of the the big lava chamber, I fight the previous boss again and aquire another pair of the Pants you would get from that fight. After that I would then have to solve the Lava chamber again. I have no idea why this is happening, my best guess is that an update to the game messed something up and nobody bothered to report it.--Tombot (talk) 18:31, 3 December 2021 (UTC)

  • I may finally have figured it out! It was the Miniature crystal ball messing with the adventure order, forcing you to fight the same boss twice in a row by predicting that they will be "next up to bat" so to speak. It's going to be tricky actually testing and proving that this is what is happening though since I can only do this once an ascension.--Tombot (talk) 02:59, 17 February 2022 (UTC)
