Talk:Manual of Transmission

I really don't see what this has to do with the transmission in cars. Because some Tryptamine-Compounds are Neurotransmitters, and Sigil stands for Spirit and Gnosis for Knowledge, I would assume the transmission of Spiritual and Magical Power is meant. --Floh 12:47, 24 January 2007 (CST)

  • I'm therefore deleting this passage --Floh 12:58, 24 January 2007 (CST)
    • I believe it does in fact reference "manual transmission", just as the Manual of Labor and Manual of Dexterity can be read as "manual labor" and "manual dexterity" if you take out the "of", which are all common phrases. I'm going to re-add the reference. Jihiro 13:23, 24 January 2007 (CST)
      • That's a brilliant idea, sorry I didn't see that --Floh 13:32, 24 January 2007 (CST)

Substat gains

The claim on the page is that the amount of substats doubles each day. However, this is rather sketchy. Seeing as the substat gain on the first day was 20 and the second was 40, that of the third day could just as easily be 60 as it could be 80. I'm removing this note until more is proven.

In addition, once this has been out longer, it will be a good idea to figure out on what the changes in substat gains are based. Are the gains simply increased each rollover, regardless of whether or not the book was used? Or do they increase with each use? This should be relatively simple to figure out, though results from more than one player may be nice. --Southwest 00:46, 25 January 2007 (CST)

I can confirm that it doesn't increase each rollover regardless of use since I forgot to use the book with my sauceror yesterday (the day it came out) and today I got 20 substat, but I got 40 magicalness with my pastamancer who did use it yesterday. This would also seem to confirm it's not controlled by some other external source such as the moons or something, but by each use. More to come =) Jihiro 16:26, 25 January 2007 (CST)
Update: Got 100 magicalness today with pastamancer. Strange. Jihiro 22:24, 25 January 2007 (CST)(edit:despite the fact the time stamp says it's still the 25th, this post came after roll-over ^_^;;)

yeah, I got 100 today and 40 yesterday--Vhalantru 23:32, 25 January 2007 (CST) I've been using it each day; toay I got 40... I thought maybe the moons had something to do with it maybe? --Catkiller 02:19, 27 January 2007 (CST)

  • It has nothing to do with the moons. My main account gained 20, 40, 100 (150), 40 (60) with the Manual of Dexterity, but my multi gained 20, missed day 2, 40, and 100 today. It's definitely the number of times it's been used successfully, not the moons. --Temporary man 11:47, 27 January 2007 (CST)
  • Hey! I think it was my 5th time reading this particular manual, but I got 30 substat! --Jewel12345 13:18, 12 March 2007 (CST)
    • was it a moxie day?--CG1:t,c,e 11:55, 12 March 2007 (CDT)
    • Probably not a Moxie day, but a Mysticality day (today). It's exactly what should be expected. --TheDotGamer 12:01, 12 March 2007 (CDT)
    • Oh yes, a Mysticality day...which means that reading it on myst. day scores you more stats! --Jewel12345 13:53, 13 March 2007 (CST)
