Does not have any hit messages yet. Just "You hit X for Y damage" :(
So I'm guessing this isn't anything like the C.B.F.G. (which was my first thought, until I saw that that one's a rifle)
ETA: wait, wait, I just got one: You fire a "beam" from your "laser," doing 46(+5) "damage." Definitely a Doctor Evil reference there.
And two more that showed up:
- You fire a blast from your laser cannon, hitting for 52 (+5) damage. Man, you're way more precise than those imperial stormtroopers.
- You fire a burst of energy from your magilaser blastercannon. And not the good burst of energy, like the kind you get from a cup of coffee -- the kind that does 58 (+5) damage.

I believe the hit message "You fire a blast from your laser cannon, hitting for 52 (+5) damage. Man, you're way more precise than those imperial stormtroopers." is a reference to the Star Wars movie A New Hope, as well as the Family Guy Star Wars parody Blue Harvest, especially the scenes of stormtroopers firing at the Millenium Falcon, as they continually miss, even at a decently close range.

Just wondering if this somehow is handled by a different drop mechanic. Visually it was mentioned after the bounty-item... Whatever, it seemed weird to me... --TheBoyd 07:52, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
- I think drops are ordered by itemid; not sure. --BagatelleT/C 12:52, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
- No, drops have a particular order, per monster. Generally, if a drop is added to a monster after some game change, it is added at the end. Bounty items generally drop last, but if a new item is added, it is added after the bounty items, so it does look strange (but this is not the first time it happens). The Wiki does not record this order in general, probably because it serves no gameplay purpose, and you need to have multiple drops in the same combat to check their orders, so it can be a pain to get the correct order for some monsters. For a strange case, see the C. H. U. M. chieftain - its actual drop order is bottle - nuggets - bottle - nuggets - crown (and I'm not sure where the knife falls), so you can even have two identical items separated by a different one. --Pcentella 15:54, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
I'm fairly certain that the hit-specific message containing "And not the good burst of energy, like the kind you get from a cup of coffee" is a hat tip to the song "Stress" by Jim's Big Ego .
