How is this quest doable in hardcore mode, as a sign that can't pickpocket? Afaik, you're required to look like a clown (fully? shows and nose didn't suffice) in order to get the Fun House section of your item right (for Turtle Tamer, same as AT) and one of the set items is the bowtie, which is semi rare and pickpockettable only.-20:05, 25 June 2007 (CDT)

I have finished the quest as a TT in hardcore without the item that needs to be pickpocketed.--Wokin 20:10, 25 June 2007 (CDT)
It is sufficient to just look like a clown. Looking like a Terrifying Clown is optional. --Jonrock 20:12, 25 June 2007 (CDT)
Ok thanks! Guess I need the bloody pants too then. -MarcyRoni 20:27, 25 June 2007 (CDT)
I'm doing some experimentation, but it appears that you need at least 4 'clown' items, but not the outfit per se. It work's with balloon helmet, foolscap fool's cap, bloody clown pants, big red clown nose, clown shoes, polka-dot bow tie, and possibly acid-squirting flower.--Benjiboi 20:31, 25 June 2007 (CDT)
Yes, I found out that three items don't work, and the tattoo worthy outfit is impossible, but four do (I only tried the foolscap). It's unfortunate that there is no indication of any sort of set existence, and it's more than 3 items, unlike the majority of other outfits - painful quest in HCO to be experimenting with. -MarcyRoni 05:54, 26 June 2007 (CDT)

Do these things disappear when you ascend?

I'm just saying, since they're labeled as quest items, it's possible that they don't stick around at ascension. That will especially suck since making a squeezebox will also destroy your rock and roll legend. You'll have to spend a bunch of smithing turns in EVERY ascension now, and AT buffs will all last for only five turns if you're not an AT. Worse, this will now be true for Sauceror and TT buffs as well. --Kazim 07:38, 26 June 2007 (CDT)

Yes, I assume they disappear when you ascend, and they're untinkerable!! I'm not sure I'm going to be finishing this quest for any temporary runs from now on. "Part of the game" apparently. -MarcyRoni 02:45, 29 June 2007 (CDT)
