Talk:Knob Kitchen grab-bag
From TheKolWiki
I just got 5 knob sausages out of a grab bag (and nothing else) - I didn't know that was possible. Is one report enough to change the article page (which currently lists 0-4 as the possible range)? --Alomir 13:34, 14 July 2006 (CDT)
- I'd say yes. In fact, I'd even go so far as to say that, if the grab-bags give 5 items, the range should be 0-5 on all items. It's not likely that all five items would be knob sausages (in fact the odds are 1/(4^5), or 1/1024, assuming all four possible different items are equally likely), but clearly it's possible. ... which raises the question (currently unanswered on the main page): DOES the grab bag always give 5 items? --Hellion 16:04, 14 July 2006 (CDT)
- Since no other answers were forthcoming, I invested in 50 grab bags and opened each one individually. 3-5 items every time, average 3.92 (which I rounded up to 4). --Hellion 13:05, 25 July 2006 (CDT)
- Sounds like a reasonably-sized sample to base a change to the core entry, then. 3-5 items, randomly distributed among the four options with a (small) chance of there being only ONE sort of item obtained ... that's a significant bit of data, IMO.--Bork 16:29, 28 September 2006 (CDT)
1 == spices...
- this contention seems to have no proof: unless you've seen the code this is just speculation (or flim-flam) and should be removed. --Evilkolbot 01:48, 12 April 2007 (CDT)
Collections
I currently have 171 Knob Kitchen grab-bags, which should put me in the #2 collections spot. Do I need to do anything in particular to get this recognized, such as putting them in my closet or purchasing a display case or Mall store?--LoonyLizard 05:02, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
Collection data based on what is in your display case. --CluckyB 05:20, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
Isn't the wiki collection stuff only updated when someone edits the page? --Club (#66669) (Talk) 18:15, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
- I have no idea. I thought it was something like the wiki queries the jickenwings database once a day and updates the relevant collection data. I'm fairly certain I've seen collections updated without any page edits. --Flargen 20:14, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
- The wiki naturally caches the content of pages (and the Squid proxy caches them even further), but time will eventually cause the cached data to be invalidated and new data will show up on its own. --Quietust (t|c) 21:11, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
- Regardless, the data is reflecting what JickenWings is showing. If there's an issue it's not on the Wiki side.--Toffile 21:17, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
