Wouldn't it make more sense to have the adventure change when you get access to /Veteran due to the "You've been telling this joke for over a year now" line? -Mojotech

I'm not familiar with MC Hammer, but the line "Stop, collaborate, and listen" was in Ice, Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice. Not sure if he cribbed from Mr. Hammer, though. --Snickles 21:24, 2 Jul 2005 (Central Daylight Time)

  • Also, somewhat unrelated, should we start making the "References" header a link, and have a central list of references? I'm generally not in favor of redundant information, but I think it might be warranted in this case. --Snickles 21:27, 2 Jul 2005 (Central Daylight Time)
  • I'm in favor of having a seperate page for references, but I don't really like the idea of links in headers. --Aardvark 21:31, 2 Jul 2005 (Central Daylight Time)
  • Any ideas? Header links do look sort of, eh, poor. --Snickles 21:55, 2 Jul 2005 (Central Daylight Time)
  • I'm thinking a master page for references that links to the relevent subsections. --Aardvark 22:15, 2 Jul 2005 (Central Daylight Time)
  • So no return link at all? The biggest problem I see (not with your suggestion, just with a references page) is keeping it in sync with references added to item/familiar/adventure pages. --Snickles 22:17, 2 Jul 2005 (Central Daylight Time)
  • Hmm. I'm not really sure. Perhaps there should simply be a See also: Cultural References at the end of the section. We could template it, to keep it in sync, so that all you'd have to do would be to use {{reference|comment=}}, where comment contains the actual reference itself... I dunno. --Aardvark 22:24, 2 Jul 2005 (Central Daylight Time)
  • /me Ponders whether or not "Cultural References" should be a category or not... or maybe just a page. Hmm. --JRSiebz 21:57, 2 Jul 2005 (Central Daylight Time)
  • Personally, I believe it would be better off as a seperate page. --Aardvark 22:15, 2 Jul 2005 (Central Daylight Time)
  • As long as when people add references they remember to add it to the references page also, else it'd just become out of date. Oh noes a new standards section! ;-) I know i've added cultural references for at least 20 items. --JRSiebz 22:25, 2 Jul 2005 (Central Daylight Time)
  • Right. The only reason I suggest a page over a category is it is impossible to link a category to a subsection, which would be the ideal. Plus, a page can contain so much more data and formatting. --Aardvark 22:29, 2 Jul 2005 (Central Daylight Time)
  • A search for ==References== will turn up all the references to date. --Snickles 23:11, 2 Jul 2005 (Central Daylight Time)

I've just confirmed on one of my characters that this does not change from ascending once. I would therefore assume like the above poster that it's checking if you have access to /veteran or not. I'm gonna change the page to reflect this, feel free to bring up anything contrary in here if you have something against that. --sl1me 10:40, 27 July 2006 (CDT)

  • I don't think that it's related to /veteran. I got this adventure and I have only been playing for 289 days and I do not have access to /veteran. This is my 5th ascension though, maybe it has something to do with that. --Natter91
  • Yeah, I think it has to do with numebr of ascensions. This is my fourth run (So 3rd ascension) and, to my knowledge, this was the first time I got the second adventure. --Ju Ju Master 17:45, 17 August 2006 (CDT)
  • Don't think it has to do with number of ascensions, as I got this on my first ascension, just after ascension was implemented. I do believe that I was a veteran by that time. --DeathByPie 03:36, 10 September 2006 (CDT)

Has anyone considered that perhaps this is occurring after 1 kol year (96 days)? Or perhaps when a player enters a new kol year. Discordance 11:31, 2 November 2012 (CET)

  • Possibly. However, this adventure's been gone for 6 years now, so a more prudent question to ask is "Who cares?".--Toffile 11:45, 2 November 2012 (CET)
