Believe it or not is a reference to the theme song from the 80s TV show "Greatest American Hero" --Chef Rannos 13:26, 1 September 2010 (UTC)

I have to imagine it's also an obvious reference to The GAP as well --Quamper 20:19, 1 September 2010 (UTC)

Do the effects stay if the pants are removed? - AvangionQ / September 2nd, 2010.

  • No. --Fig bucket 10:22, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
  • Actually the effects appear to stay if they are removed by a monster's effect during combat. I was battling Zombo and got my pants scared off. But the effects remained for the rest of the combat! I tried adventuring again without the pants to see if this was simply interface lag. But it wasn't! The effects remain after the pants are removed in combat and persisted without having to re-equip the pants. I didn't try wearing a different pair of pants before re-equiping the G.A.P. though because I'm stupid. =P --Finalfrog 13:49, 24 September 2010 (UTC)
  • I can confirm this. I was using all 5 effects and fought Zombo. He knocked off my pants, I beat him, then I put on the bounty-hunting pants and the effects stayed. --Trubye 14:15, 24 March 2011 (UTC)

Does anyone have the run away messages for this yet? --Discdeath 17:33, 2 September 2010 (UTC)

When you have both these pants and the navel ring equipped, the run away message is for the navel ring, "The pyramid of energy surrounding you shimmers as you quickly float away." After 3 runaways though, I got the message "You're starting to get kinda queasy from all of this flying."--Ataradan 04:06, 8 September 2010 (UTC)

Does ascending reset the use counter? --Jimfromtx 06:14, 9 January 2011 (UTC)

After spending several minutes staring at some forum posts that used the word GRAMPA without explanation, I finally figured out that GRAMPA is a somewhat uncommon abbreviation for Greatest American Pants. OK. So it would be reasonable to make grampa redirect straight to Greatest American Pants, right? Well, possibly. Except that grampa might also be a misspelling of Grandpa. So I figured the nice, polite thing to do would be to be put in a sort of disambiguation page. It would explain what GRAMPA means, and it would say, "Oh, by the way, in case you were looking for Grandpa, there he is."

In fact, I did just that. But the cabal deleted it. Because the cabal fucking HATES me. Well, I hate them too. They make me angry.

You know what else the cabal did? They lied. In the message that they left behind when they annihilated my explanation/disambiguation page, they said that GRAMPA is on something called the "abbreviation page". But that's an outright untrue statement. It's not on the Acronyms page. You can tell that because, now that they deleted grampa, when you type "grampa" in the search box, you get no results at all. No explanations, no suggestions, no partial matches, nothing. Nada.

(You can also tell it's not there by actually going to the page and looking. But then you have to figure out that the "abbreviation page" is called Acronyms, which at least in my case, required a third party explanation.)

Sometimes I wonder why the fuck I even bother trying to make this place better. It's increasingly obvious that my efforts are no longer appreciated. --Greycat 16:17, 14 January 2011 (UTC)

Take a deep breath and stop taking it so personally. Bring this up in Discussion. I'm no admin, but to me it makes sense to start with the Acronyms page, not a disambig page. I hate some of the stupid acronyms people use, and have said so as much in other pages. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 18:52, 14 January 2011 (UTC)
There's no point bringing it up on Discussion. The cabal has its mind set, and has had it set for years. There is no possibility of changing it. The wiki will be done the way they want it to be done. It will be structured the way they want it to be structured. Any information added to the wiki which does not conform to their preconceived structure will be deleted. If you don't happen to know what that structure is, too bad -- you aren't allowed to contribute in any other fashion. This is not an isolated incident, you know. This happens to me all the time. Gods forbid I actually think about a problem and try my best to come up with an appropriate solution, rather than digging around through 5 years of history to find the one acceptable way. --Greycat 02:54, 15 January 2011 (UTC)
Okay, I have to ask. Are you genuinely raging at a mysterious, shadowy, EEEEVIL cabal that runs a repository of information for a silly browser game? Or is this Strider-esque ironic humor? --billybobfred 03:40, 13 March 2011 (UTC)

I can respect that the way I put in the buttons' effects (which seemed to make sense while editing the page, but then did look a little bit dumb in practice) was The Wrong Thing. I'm going to put them below it, because I'm sick of opening six extra pages to figure out what my pants do. --Id 22:08, 28 August 2011 (CEST)
