Correct Formula

I have updated the page with the correct information. It works precisely like Ode to Booze, just for food. --DarthDud 17:41, 5 April 2007 (CDT)

Old Discussion

I am assuming this is similar to Ode to Booze, but for food, judging by /hardcore.-Carados 08:55, 14 June 2006 (CDT)

Last night I dreamt "Got Milk" was implemented in KoL, as an adventure but anyway, I'm officially scared now. --NewZorkBat 09:21, 14 June 2006 (CDT)

The effect is awesome. I ate three reagent dishes (gnocchetti) today while this was in effect, and I got 29, 29 and 33 adventures from them (cf. normal 21-29 range). Moon sign is not Opossum either; so this means it added at least 4 adventures to the reagent dish. More spading will be required. --Greycat 08:01, 15 June 2006 (CDT)

  • I can personally verify this - I got 31 adventures out of a bat wing chow mein, which normally never gives more than 27 adventures. I suspect these potions could become very popular for speed ascensions. --Quietust 08:57, 15 June 2006 (CDT)
  • Had the milk effect, Vole sign. 4 Bat Wing Chows gave me: 27, 28, 27, 26. Even with only one over the cap, that's still some pretty good adventure gains. Mr. Blonde 02:22, 19 June 2006 (CDT)
  • Had the milk effect, Marmot sign. 1 Hell Ramen, got 25 adventures. With the current formula (1+0.2X), that's impossible for Hell Ramen.. the minimum should be 27. Formula isn't right. Shao Mi 08:24, 27 March 2007 (CDT)

..Dood

When I ate spicy noodles, I got 17 adventures, and everytime I ate an other one, It was still 17! Probally it caps, randomizes, or just adds a bunch of adventures.

My results

Here are my totals as an Opposum

  1. hot wings (3, 3, 3, 3)
  2. grue egg omelette (33)
  3. abominable (5, 7, 8, 7, 7, 5)

The grue egg is 5 adventures over its max, the abominables' range is 3 over. Subtracting the adventure I get as an opposum, it appears to be adding 4 and 2 respectively, which is the fullness of the items. Hot wings cap out at 3.---Foggy, June 22 2006, 7:57 AM EST

More Results

Happy Birthday Claude, Cake: 4 adventures (as an opposum, this is how many I should get) Herbal Stuffing: 22, 24, 24, 27! Candy Cane: 7

Candy Cane is definitely 1 above the max I should get (2-6), the Herbal Stuffings are also pretty high.

I'm wondering if Got Milk doesn't affect food that don't give you stat gains?--Foggy 00:02, 24 June 2006 (CDT)

Duration

In the effect page, it says 5 or 10 adventures from Milk of Magnesia, but on the actual Milk of Magnesia page it only says 5 adventures. testing further? --Shokwave 23:29, 24 June 2006 (CDT)

Third Round of Results

  • Carob chunk brownies: 7,4,5,7,7
  • Carob chunk noodles: 11
  • Candy Cane: 3,4,3,3,2,4,8

Normally the candy cane gives 1-5 adventures, so 8 is pretty high. Carob chunk brownies give 2-6. A 3 or 8 would have helped immensely. This is all as an Opposum.--Foggy 09:57, 25 June 2006 (CDT)

So, uh... does it stack?

What happens if you both have Got Milk and used a Munchies Pill? I assume SOMETHING does, but an exact outlook on the results would be nice. Fatmus 19:42, 31 August 2006 (CDT)

Formula correction

The adventure results are more consistent with:

adv = ceiling(1.25 * X)

than the posted formula of

adv = round(X + (1 + (0.2 * X)))

with X being the number of adventures you would have received without got milk. My testing shows that herb brownies with got milk produce 3, 4, 5, 7, or 8 (never 6) adventures. The posted formula predicts 3, 5, 6, 7, or 8 (never 4). --Volante 13:43, 9 November 2006 (CST)

Ok, If the ceiling formula is correct, it should be impossible to get any multiple of 5 + 1 (1, 6, 11, 16, and so on) adventures from food with got milk. Opossum and munchies could override or stack and change the results. Has anyone seen results that contradict this? --Volante 13:14, 10 November 2006 (CST)

Just received 16 adventures from spicy noodles under a Blender sign. -- Dalgar, 11 November 2006 19:34 EST

I just ate some spicy noodles too, and one of them gave 11 adventures. Scratch one theory. --Volante 00:27, 12 November 2006 (CST)

Herb Brownies

I'll record the adventure gains I got while eating Herb Brownies under the influence of Got Milk.
8, 8, 7, 8, 3, 3, 3, 5, 7, 7 --TheArchivist 22:36, 22 November 2006 (CST)
5, 7, 5, 5, 8 --TheArchivist 09:25, 26 November 2006 (CST)
I just ascended again today, prompting me to remember that these adventure gains are with the Opossum zodiac sign. D'oh! --TheArchivist 17:29, 26 November 2006 (CST)

Gift Cakes

I realized that perhaps the best way to test this would be with the cakes from the gift shop. I'll start throwing them down the hatch with milk and we'll see what happens. --TheArchivist 09:44, 26 November 2006 (CST)

  • Today I ate the three-tiered wedding cake with the "Got Milk" effect on me. Turns out that I did NOT receive any extra adventures as it seems. See these two links for a screenshot and the discussion on the KoL boards:

Does it also work for the NPC shop food items?

Such as food from Chez Snootee, the Eating Cave, etc? --'Ivan 02:48, 4 December 2006 (CST)

I would like to know, as well. --wexer9 16:45, 28 December 2006 (CST)

  • Gingerbread Massacre:

You chow down on the broken bodies of a hundred gingerbread men. Yes, even the gumdrop buttons. You gain 8 Adventures.

I'd say yes.--RPGMarker35 17:23, 28 December 2006 (CST)
