This might have a tie in to the Tron ARG from last comic con. Various bloggers received a couple game tokens that eventually led to a recreation of Flynn's Arcade. --Grimdel 02:20, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

  • I think this whole thing (familiar and arcade) is inspired by the new TRON coming out, but I'd say it's too far to say this token is a reference to a specific movie promotion. Lots of arcades use brass tokens instead of quarters for their coin-op games. I've got two, from different places, sitting in my change jar. You can bulk buy them off the web, roughly 15 cents each for 1000, cheaper if you buy more, more expensive if you want a custom design. It's a good deal for the arcade owner, since they can sell them for 25c, get most of them back, and still make a profit off of the unused ones. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 18:11, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
    • Here's my case as to my assertion that there might be a tie in:
      • The recreation of Flynn's Arcade at Comic Con was at an undisclosed location away from the convention, and wasn't advertised. The only way to find out about it was to receive a package containing a couple tokens (and clues) (or read the blogs of the receipients). Likewise, you can only find the Game Grid Arcade if you have tokens.
      • Jick & Skully attended last years Comic Con when this happened.
    • I suppose the only way to really find out is to ask them on their radio show...--Grimdel 18:50, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
  • Lots of things in the game are only visible under certain conditions. And you don't need tokens to see this. You can visit the Game Grid with just tickets. I'm curious how this interacts with the the agua de vida quest, which uses the same spot in town, but I'm going to wait until next ascension to check. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 19:34, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
    • When there's something of Krakrox's buried there, it's an empty square waiting for you to dig up the item. Otherwise it's the Game Grid. --Hellion 23:04, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

Anyone else think it's silly that the references section is like "Coins don't exist, except for all these things that exist and are coins." —Preceding unsigned comment added by P4n1q (talkcontribs) on 17:44, 2011 February 3

  • I certainly do. Even with the last edit, it still doesn't list all the "except"s for no coins in the game. I vote nuke it. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 19:06, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
