What about papaya? --Cheezehog 18:52, 4 September 2011 (CEST)
- Verified that papayas do indeed deserve a mention on this page, and added. --Wrldwzrd89 22:03, 4 September 2011 (CEST)
In the light of the current PvP season we have been given a method to verify what, without any doubt, is considered a fruit (or cake) in KoL. This has brought up the question Should this page be deleted/changed/moved/somethinged?
I think this page should be maintained as it is, because it lists fruits in a broader context than consumable food that counts for PvP. For example the blood kiwi is undoubtedly a fruit, but can't be consumed. Tomatoes are berries, but don't count, because fruitcake with tomatoes doesn't seem to be a thing. Olives seem to count for the Hippies of Loathing, because they don't discriminate – but are a fruitcake no-no as well. --Yatsufusa (talk) 12:04, 11 November 2014 (UTC)
This page vs. the fruit category
I notice that this page's content doesn't quite seem to line up with the fruit category page found here. Why are there two separate pages? Should this one be merged with that page? --AppleSaws (talk) 19:03, 6 July 2021 (UTC)
Also, while I'm talking about this page: the organization here makes no sense to me.
Like, the fruit from distant lands also comes from the barrel full of barrels, so why not call it barrel fruit instead? The three "TPS fruits" have many other uses other than just TPS, though they do make some sense to group together since they also make up a zappable group. But if we're organizing by zappability, then the cocktail mixers and produce stand fruits should be together, and that's not even mentioning that tonic water is in that zap group. Or then there's the generic "fruits" at the top. Why are bananas and blood kiwis separate from this group? If you'd say it's because they have weird ways to obtain them that are outside of the scope of a standard run (and blood wiki is only level-restricted and is technically standard, but whatever) the raisin is just as hard to obtain if not harder, and would also warrant its own category, since it only comes from the antique record album zone. You could also break up the "fruits" category more if you wanted to, like how some could be labelled "sauceror potion fruits" while others can't be, or how some can be used to make booze with fermenting powder but others can't.
That was a bit of a ramble, but the point here is that the organization on this page makes no sense to me and I think it either needs to be reworked, or even better, just take the relevant content from this page, paste it onto the fruit category page, then make this one redirect to that page. --AppleSaws (talk) 19:35, 6 July 2021 (UTC)
- There's some value in groupings fruits according to different use-cases, but like a lot of the strategy/guide pages it has not been maintained very well and could certainly be updated or reorganized if anyone has an interest in doing so. Merging it with the Category:Fruit page would make sense too. --Fig bucket (talk) 21:04, 6 July 2021 (UTC)
