Can the Needs Cleanup comment be a bit more specific? Writing three words that isn't even long enough to be considered a fragment does not help in the slightest. --Clackling 10:34, 27 June 2007 (CDT)

The name of the effect is Black Face, not Black face. --Starwed 11:00, 27 June 2007 (CDT)

At base 256 muscle, I raised by 25 muscle. Seems to be 10%--Llamaman 03:35, 1 July 2007 (CDT)

Black facepaint's description says it makes you "walk much slower". So does this also reduce your initiative? I'm guessing that all 3 buffs gained from the black market items have a weakness. --Prestige 09:17, 11 July 2007 (CDT)

I haven't spaded this out, but it seems to increase my non-combat adventures.

Very small amount of spading: 21 turns with Black Face on in the Spooky Forest, also had a ring of conflict, no +ML or other combat frequency changers. 10 noncombat 11 combat According to the wiki, the Spooky Forest is 60% combat. This tiny sample size would seem to indicate that I got +10% noncombat, and only 5% of that was due to the ring of conflict, so this may be a non-combat increaser. However, given how few data points I have, this really doesn't mean anything. Is there a better place for non-combat spading? Ponder Stibbons 13:17, 8 September 2007 (CDT)

  • The bedroom is 20% combats. If you run -15% combats (such as a ring of conflict, deodorant, and sonata), then it's simple to test if Black Face reduces combats by using this effect as well. If it does have a combat reduction effect, then the total combat rate will be reduced to 0% from 5%. If it doesn't, the combat rate will still be 5% and you will get combat adventures.--QuantumNightmare 13:24, 8 September 2007 (CDT)

I have not seen a change in my noncombat adventures, this does seem to lower my initative though. Without this effect I acted first in 100% of my combats in the woods, with this effect I acted second some of the time. I don't have specific numbers, but this was ~20 adventures with the effect and ~30 without.--Dunsel 12:06, 18 September 2007 (CDT)

Bonus melee damage

This effect seems to give +15 melee damage, in addition to the muscle boost. Using this w/ pet buffing spray (to cancel out the bonus muscle), I observed a damage range exactly 15 higher than with no effects. This mirrors an observation made at Erudite, where someone noticed an increase in spell damage. --Starwed 06:20, 22 September 2007 (CDT)

Initiative Spading

Tested in Dire Warren with a character that can't run away at -50%, can at -45%. With Black Face, he can't run away at -10%, can at -5%. Black Face is -40%. --Foggy 16:15, 19 April 2008 (CDT)
