Talk:Floaty sand
You decide that you miss the beach, so you stick the sand in your shoes.
You acquire an effect: 5 Pounds Lighter (duration: 10 Adventures)
5 Pounds Lighter
- You're about five pounds lighter than you normally are. It's as if you've got the opposite of half of a camera pointed at you.
+10% Combat Initiative Moxie +5
Dunno how to make a page for this, but there you go. Encountering another rock snake with this active had no additional effects. --Lizardking 15:59, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
Has anyone tried pulverizing it? Moynusaxon 16:22, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
Can't be pulverized, it isn't equipment. It also isn't marked as cookable, smithable, craftable, or pastable. --Dunsel 16:34, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
weird, but it has nopic.gif when looking it up in mall o_O --Hrag 16:47, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
I'm thinking that maybe the earthquake is going to cause the Mysterious Island of Mystery to start sinking, and we're going to need to collect floaty sand to help shore it back up again. --AnyLameName 12:57, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

Combining
How about multi-using it? Can it be made into anything else, like the Sandfuls of Hand? --Eitheladar 07:18, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
- There may well be some way; look at the images GoldS found. Float dust, gravel, pebbles, rock. Although I suppose these could drop from some yet to be seen higher level versions of the rock snakes. --Starwed 15:51, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
- This is now a meatpasting component as well. So far it has been confirmed to combine with moxie magnet, but more spading is needed. --Grogum the Violent Activist 02:56, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
References
Been trying to think of one for this and it came to me while i was looking at my bookshelf. this plus the additional floaty items discovered by GoldS could be a reference to the Book series "the Edge Chronicles" in which there are items called flight rocks that float perpetually upward and are used for flight. perhaps this is a floaty rock broken up and as we go further up they go to floaty pepples, floaty gravel, and finally floaty rocks...or boulders if your into that sort of thing. --theassasin 12:40, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
Floaty Sand and Unstable Quark
Meat pasting Floaty Sand and and Unstable Quark gives you a small amount of MP ( I got 9). Didn't think to capture the text in time and don't have a lot of Quarks. Can someone else finish this up?--Baughbe 00:50, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
- That's supposed to happen. Read what the unstable quark does. --TechSmurf 01:04, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
Item of the month
So the new IOTM familar is also some floating sand/rock. Aside from the NPZR, I can't think of any other cases where a familiar was related to an ongoing event. Are the two possibly connected? Also, is there a specific page with information on this event, much like the Gray Plague page? --Lizardking 12:04, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
- Rock monsters, Unexplained Tremors --Hrag 19:41, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
Oh, never mind, just found it on the front page and it already mentions this. My bad. --Lizardking 12:06, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
Inflatable Dodecapede was released timed NS13, it's a familiar designed for ascension (has most power at lowest weight). Temporal Riftlet came out with the time crisis. Astral Badger came out just as the observatory was closing (tie is just name, though). Crimbo always has Crimbo related IOTM. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 18:16, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
- I think you mean that the Dodecapede was released at Ascension... not NS-13 which came 2 years after the Dodecapede--Chopstix 03:34, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
- Um, yes. I did mean that. Back at NS11, not NS13. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 07:47, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
Obsolete Methods
Shouldn't the description be updated to list rock monsters as obsolete methods of getting Floaty Sand? Has anyone gotten a rock monster adventure since the tremors ceased? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tsa05 (talk • contribs) on 20:08, 18 September 2009
